Hello you lot. I used to be one of you then sold. I am now one of you lot again via the back door, I think I've been head hunted...as GFRD. ;-)
This morning I see BVS via google finance function returns blank - and the new VTY has kicked in - but still showing "Bovis" as company name - and retaining historical data.
Nice to have clear decks after Brexit/election/year end buy outs etc zzz.
Pre Brexit I sold most of folio except for house builders as growing population on an island has to be good for builders no matter the world politics.
I feel as if a fog has lifted a bit now..so hoping to regain some focus an clarity of what the future holds.
IMO :-)

We should be getting 3.81 bonus shares for every 100 shares held.
Hence for yesterday's market cap to be maintained one would expect a fall of 3.81% apprx in the share price.
So any movement above or below a minus 3.81% today represents the "real" daily movement.

Just to clarify.... the second interim dividend will NOT be paid on the bonus shares.

See the following extract from 7 November RNS "Acquisition Update" section 8:

Instead of paying the Bovis Homes 2019 final dividend, the Company expects to pay a cash dividend of up to 41 pence per Share in May 2020 to Shareholders on the Company's register of members as at 6.00 p.m. on 27 December 2019 (the "Second Interim Dividend"), whereby the relevant Shareholders (which, for the avoidance of doubt, shall include holders of the Placing Shares but exclude recipients of Consideration Shares and Bonus Issue Shares) shall be entitled to receive their pro rata entitlements to the Second Interim Dividend. The payment date of the Second Interim Dividend is in line with the normal final dividend payment timetable.

EJ - thanks for confirming the .0381. I got that sum right for once!
I think we are also seeing selling by GFRD holders today who don't fancy BVS.
I'll be watching the UT end of day to check buyers appetite.
I remain very hopeful of the new combine - why would Greg Fitz be wasting his time?
So I'm content to be quite patient here: collecting divis and the bonus.

True, that line looks crystal clear. But if the record date is 2 Jan at 6pm, I can’t see how 3 Jan 8 am is ex bonus. For example, if I bought bvs at 4pm on 2 Jan, they would not meet the record day of 6pm that day, therefore I’d miss my bonus and then get hit by ex the morning after. I’m obviously being a bit thick here, but I’ve never seen ex day after record day. Makes no sense to me!

I don't have any BVS shares..Oh yes you do..
..well GFRD shares at mo'. ;-)

Given new year, new budgets for industry/employees and Brexit/election haze lifting, a con majority too, all bodes well for the market as a whole, aside from stronger pound potentially a negative for exporters.

BVS specific I believe a key part of the GFRD (Linden) acquisition was to bring some of the quality across to cover their weak spot... though that's already likely priced in, but any comment in trade update on changes in the combined entity should go down well.

IMO :-)

As a GFRD holder, sad to see the company potentially being sold to BVS on the cheap, just as things appear to be moving after the problems with the construction side dragged the share price down. Even the increased price offered undervalues the house building side of GFRD but then I suppose on the other hand, it does make the combined group stronger in the long run.

I see the new offer is £300M more than last time and that the GFRD share price went up much more than BVS when the news leaked earlier this week. It fell back but is still 15% up on the week in contrast to BVS which is about 8% up on the week.
Just been looking at their recent balance sheets ; similar figures to here.

Thank-you Brummy Git.
Believed Redrow was a t/o target, rather than a buyer, but 2+ potential bidders is a dream scenario for bumping up BVS share price .and I believe it is generally acknowledged housing shares are at low values as all is rosy, so no upward volatility to be had for day traders.
Some excitement for a Monday morning - I have GFRD and BVS...and BKG if they come in.

Doesn't look like autumn statement housing promises has done much to BVS share price , though old news by the time he announced it.
