Firmor, rock samples have been taken from Mars license and will be analysed as soon as allowed , hopefully done by mid June. The contractor is doing this himself, no payment from Bod. If he is happy with the results , we are at the races, could be great?

All on hold due to a virus. BoD has held up well - but that is a function of exploring in areas where it is known that diamonds are present as opposed to fundamental exploration, as well as sharing risk with partners. We are on a holding pattern until Southern Africa re-ignites and emerges from its bunkers once the full impact of Covid is understood. Could not be in better real estate though, and that excludes the relative unknown in Zimbabwe.

Hi Cynical, yes it has held relatively well helped this week with a nice tick in the ‘approval box’ by the Botswana authorities with 4 new kalahari licences and extensions to the existing ones - let’s hope that bodes well for a Maibwe result in coming months - imagine that on top of a good Mars bulk sample outcome, which is promised for asap after all this nonsense ends. We’ve also been promised a podcast interview/update in the next day or 2. Keep safe!

Afternoon all! Hope everyone is safe and well....I have been avoiding looking at the price here....but am pleasantly surprised that it has held up as well as it has....

Guess it is now back to sleep until the Corona "crisis" has taken its course.....

There is no doubt that the exploration business has changed in the last 10 years with a reduced propensity for risk on the part of investors. A funding model using equuty is no longer preferred but cash generation from thorny river should go some way to fixing this, post corona lockdown interruptions. The right corporate action could also play a part as the company has very prospective tenements which must not be overlooked.

Quite. The risk sharing approach is overlooked, and these guys are achieving a lot for a small amount, but you will not see this anywhere in the financials.

Oxford43: erm, it’s an exploration company... it has very little overhead (there’s no ‘lifestyle business’ going on as far as I can see despite what some seem to think re 163 group) and has proved itself very adept at getting contractors to work for non-cash payment
Revenue will come.

Another set of accounts with zero turnover. Will this company ever generate a £1 of revenue..

If the idea that BOD could look for gold has any credibility , you might ask why have 4-5 companies all operating under the same roof - ostensibly looking for diamonds, gold , oil etc etc all over the world with a small group of common directors.

Why not just 1 company ?
But 1 company would highlight the overall performance and the remuneration.

I now seem to agree with Fenners , after seeing all the backlash he/she has been receiving. Ok to a point we including myself disagree with Fenners at some point. But nothing has even happened to the Teeling corp of companies. It's been 3 years since I got back in here at 2p. Now it's just happy faces on BOD twitter and more funding required, it's not a revenue generator. It's just fund raise for exploration then nothing and abandoned projects. I'm with Fenners. ?

This is not a completely off the wall idea - Thorny River is not far from South Africa's oldest gold mine which is called Eersteling. The mine is not currently operating - likely for permitting reasons - but the q is worthy of asking the geologists. Always wondered why bod has not introduced a small precious metal (gold) play into its portfolio as a cash generator given the lead time & complexity attached to diamond prospects.

Does anyone think there may be gold in with the diamonds!!!-or, does a well known poster think that it is a jewellery box BOD is the exploring for?
