Ein I take your point well made.
However the Clontarf businesses have made a career out of finding a story, a dream if you like, to sell and doing it over and over.
It truly is appealing to the greedy, the gambler. No one is "investing" in Clontarf shares / businesses that are selling anything and even making cash flow let alone profit , its all about gambling with a history of those gambles failing.

However bookmakers are very good businesses, meaning there are always going to be gamblers.

As was said on Bloomberg this morning, why would anyone want to put more good money in after bad, into a business that has a solid track record of losing investors money and repeated dilution and cash calls?

It was said about Banco Monte Pashi de Sienna but of course it made me think about this lot.

Fenners, De Beers are not infallible and are probably not the best any more in that business. The big money over the last few years has been in large diamonds. Most of these come from two mines Letting in Lesotho and Karowe in Botswana, it sold Karowe in 2009 for $ 49 Million . A diamond from here the 813 carat Constellation sold for more than the price it got from the mine?So plenty to go for here, high risk but equally high reward?

I would imagine that there would have been some sort of contract regarding that and if their obligations fulfilled their stake reverts to someone....question is who ?

BCL is the operator but has ceased work on Maibwe before completing the agreed programme of work.

Might there be a question of whether they are still entitled to 51% ?

Maibwe project :- BCL farmed-in as operator for 51%, a private Botswana company has 20% and Siseko has 29%.

BOD owns 51% of Siseko, hence giving them approx 15% of Maibwe.

I am trying to figure out who has an interest in the "brightstone" block.
I know BOD have a 15% carry up to bfs in Milbwe and that BCL (51%) were the operator but who holds the other 34%. I assume BCL's share will be up for sale when preliminary liquidation completed in four months, could BOD raise the funds for that purchase and JV again with Alrosa? Or are we looking at a new player on the block? (LUC maybe)

Please we dont want to hear it. the "It" is made up of quotes and facts from the annual reports.
I know you are all serious investors who don't want to be reminded of the risks , but its not for your consumption you are not interested anyway.

As for just going to dust, well that is the point after 10 years of getting no where (say PET) these companies are not going away . the story just changes and the new issue shares keep funding.

Once upon a time a football manger got a team promoted from league 2, on the back of that he got the job with a champion ship team, who sacked him and were then relegated, later the same season he landed a job with a Premier league team and promptly they got relegated same season and then sacked him as well. He returned to the first club and had a poor record again and was promptly sacked once more , under new stewardship that team got promoted again.

So was he a fantastic manager all along? Did he have a record of success or failure after all he got promotion once years before?
is he now back in the premiership or not employed as a football manager at all.

I think we know the answer .

Fenners66....you are also missing the point that a lot of investors made money on AFD..sold to Lucara...who then went on to find some serious gemstones in the mine that AFD found....so as far as diamonds are concerned in this part of the world...the management team have been there and done it. We are all hoping for more of the same!

Zero importance because you are gambling , not interested in managements past performance , diversion of effort , record of all the company's going concern questioned, history of dilutions that suggest that any success will cost current shareholders ? Ok there are no better investments on the market then........

fiachra - I knew I must have missed off something - Ghana - where JT was supposed to be (relieved of his other duties) until he came back with a deal on Tano.
How could you ignore the holy grail of Iraq? From the website - Petrel has has been operational in Iraq since 1999.

Also you would be ignoring PET's € 4.2 million investment (financial asset ) but effectively was intangible rolled up into a wholly owned subsidiary.
Write that off and PET's accumulated losses rise to € 20.6 million so I'm sure they are very much interested in Iraq.

Why PET even has a subsidiary in Lebanon....

Just looked at the Clontarf website - Home page there they are Current Projects , Ghana, Peru and Bolivia. In fact from the 2015 annual accounts Ghana is discussed after the other 2.

He certainly gets around this JT - does he have a family?


Yes if you read the latest interims as always the last, next great white hope, always get relegated and then ignored so what makes Botswana any different?

How is it all funded ? Issue more shares.
