RNS out - desk top study on Heritage Concession (Marange) + progression to next steps.
Also, parallel VAST RNS. They're going ahead with a full joint venture with the owners of the Concession (Red Mercury).
All good here - more news still to come.
(And BTW, no, we can't believe what Mugabe says. But nobody actually knows precisely how many diamonds have come out of Marange in the last decade. The other figure I've seen quoted is that Marange has been responsible for about 13& of world diamond production over this time. But that will only be a guesstimate too, due to all the smuggling and so on.)

Ahem, and we can believe what Mugabe says?

Just a comment, really. Not intended to be rude to bookworm...

Nobody has ever found the source of the Marange alluvial diamonds - that's a mystery still waiting to be solved.
But it's not like there aren't a lot of alluvial diamonds. Ex-Pres. Mugabe estimated that $15bn worth of diamonds had been taken from the Marange fields in Zimbabwe.

Alluvial diamond mining is good especially if your lucky enough to find an ancient natural basin,,, but even better...the holy grail is to find the source of the alluvial deposits.

Something big is going to happen soon. Just remember that John teeling recently stated that he wants to be a miner a producer.

Fenners - why do you put so much effort into meaningless trolling? You really don't know much about Marange, do you? So why display your ignorance so proudly?

Alluvial diamond mining - reminds me of the Hoffmans in Guyana !

Except they had machinery not donkeys.... and still failed.....

To me, it looks like Red Mercury (the local community trust) will get 25% of the profits of the Heritage Concession. (This depends on the new Zimbabwe diamond policy, which is due to be announced any day now).
Given that the VAST / BOD joint venture would then have the other 75% of the whole; that would leave VAST with 65% and BOD with 10% of the profits.
As this is alluvial mining, start up can be very quick, capital intensity can be low, and returns can be very rapid. And James Campbell does know as much about it as more or less anybody!

Talking of PET

"The Directors of Petrel (AIM: PET) are pleased to announce that the Company has raised GBP400,000 (before expenses) via the placing of 21,621,622 ordinary shares (the "Placing Shares") with new investors at a price of 1.85p per Placing Share (the "Placing"). The Placing Shares represent approximately 20.68% of the Company's issued share capital, as enlarged by the Placing. "

In other words the moment they had a story to sell they issued approx 25% by shares of the existing company size to raise much needed cash.
The share price is back to pre-placing level and the existing shareholders diluted again.

Same exercise at CLON - but its share price is a little better.

What dilution should you expect here if there is any ..... "good " news ?

Sorry.. -- Initial shareholdings will be BOD - 13.33% and Vast - 86.67%. What percentage will Red mercury get out of all this.

The rumour is that diamonds will be indigenised at 25%.
I.e. for the Heritage Concession at Marange,
Vast will own 65%
Red Mercury (the local community trust) will own 25%
BOD will own 10%
But let's see. We've only got a few days / weeks to wait now.

Well, if you can't be bothered to do the research...
I'm not 100% sure that the Vast / BOD / Red Mercury deal for part of the Marange diamond fields will go through in the next month. But there must be a better than even chance that it does. And if it does, then BOD will be mining one of the world's richest resources within a few months, and taking 10% of the profits.
If that's not good enough for you, then I'm sorry, I can't help you!

Vast just received a long awaited licence that gives them the right to mine polymetallics at Baita Plai ($100m NPV, $15m free cash flow p.a. generation) in Romania. It transforms the company - especially the Romanian operations.
It's strange to see BOD down again today - there's a mining conference on right now Zimbabwe at which the President is expected to announce a new platinum and diamond policy for the country. IMO, this is all leading up to very big news for BOD and VAST re: the Heritage Concession at Marange.
