Fenner66... Well to me to be honest reading the news a out bcl.. It is a long winding process. With all the politcs, debt, compensation to previous employees etc. It might take a while anyway. They just paid the Russians a lot of monies. I really do hope That BOD make something out of this.

"we hope to get a response in the next few months"

So if you went to a liquidator in the uk and made an offer for something .... the clue here is "liquidator" what do they do...
Well what they are prone to do is make decisions in hours and sell stuff , pay debts and get out.

But here we have a story that expects a response in a few months ! MONTHS !

However everything they ever announce always takes months at least so no change there then.

If you look at it this way... BOD is still partners with BCL.

Mickluv... Maybe also... We have a mine operating producing high grade diamonds like Lucara. and a share of BCL to shareholders.

Excellent find Lordz! This is the news I wanted to hear! If we are successful here the sky is the limit for BOD it's my belief that BCL is 20 times bigger that AK6! Fingers crossed they can pull it off!!!GLA

The report recommended using the top end of the grade and value ranges, under the assumption that additional kimberlite volume can be defined with further exploration.

The company has also received the technical economic evaluation report (TEE Report) on the Thorny River Project, which showcased a deposit of 1.2 to 2 million tonnes, with a grade of 46 to 74 cpht and carat values between $120 and $220 per carat. That works out to $440000000.$220x2000000=440000000

Every counter I put to good news over the last say 6 years - for the whole stable of companies - that has actually had time to play out , has come about.

There is a pattern - either I have a crystal ball (which I don't ) or I have worked out their modus operandi or I just keep getting lucky......

Fenners66 ..I myself have not been on this board . I was last on it when it was AFD I made a few back then in at 5p out by 95p.But I honestly thought that I came on here late. I saw a potential and I admit now that I'm wrong. The one thing that did get my hopes up was that.... BOD management do like ramping the news . I was thinking yes AFD again. it does look like the same on all of their companies a failure to produce results. Its all hype and no hope . I agree on most of your posts here and there. I'll tread carefully.

Not commercial ..... and when they announced a kimberlite pipe and you ramped up the potential I asked is it commercial...

OK...how can you just abandon Ontevreden kimberlite pipe. They contain diamonds but not enough to mine. Have they gave that kimberlite pipe for the mooikloof kimberlite pipe that also contains higher potential of diamonds. That ontevreden must have been given for mooikloof its a coincident that they were awarded so soon after abandoning ontevreden. His much longer for the BCL saga. It should have been dealt with by now I thought its was sometime in June or July.

Some of your points have merit Fenners! Don't you think though that to be in exploration you need to be a romantic? This is all about what could be for me! If finding diamonds was easy everyone would have a mine and the product would be worthless! There is still some promise at Thorny River and News on BCL to come.I think it's great that we have a strong pipeline of prospects that shows good management for meGLA

More of the same methodology.

One thing is going to fail so they devise a new project to fanfare to obscure the previous failure.

This model used throughout the Clontarf group and is becoming so obvious.

I predicted this when they started the Thorny River project - now that Ontevreden is a confirmed failure my guess was correct.

Next they say ...

"While not a Scoping Study as the Company had previously envisaged in the announcements dated 15 February 2018 and 21 March 2018"

Why not a scoping study ?

It's been 2 months - time to complete and if it had been ongoing for 6 months are they saying that they had no idea what they were/ were not doing in Feb/ Mar ?

Because that gives a more final view?

So as usual we can say that they have added further delays and prevarication before they can announce it's a failure.

"But modern mineral exploration technology is not a magic bullet" ... that's funny we have previously been told that modern methods make the un-commercial , commercial ......

BUT hold the press - they have a new project - cobbled together just in time to try and offset this bad news !!

Again ....

remember this before a fund raise

"John Teeling, Chairman, commented, "The exciting new kimberlite discovery at Ontevreden continues to entice. Samples from the surface contain significant quantities of G10 and G9 garnets - high quality diamond indicator minerals frequently found at high-grade kimberlite pipes."

You will remember the lines

"The Ontevreden kimberlite pipe is close to Petra Diamonds' Helam Mine, which has grades in excess of 500cpht and a diamond value of US$255/ct "

As I said their definition of near ? ......

How much is the write off of this project going to add to the retained losses of £3.69 m ??

Just add all the losses together
CLON , CON , BOD and PET

And tell me why this would still exist if it was one company.

Teeling chaired African Diamonds, which worked closely with De Beers on a big diamond deposit in Botswana.Campbell was also at one time CEO of African Diamonds.Botswana Diamonds' strategy was to hunt for kimberlites in areas where they had been found and mined before, but the company was more than willing to assess operating or suspended mining operations provided there's an economic argument to be made for them, Campbell said.Botswana Diamonds has three prospects in SA which Philip Barton, the CEO of De Beers Consolidated Mines, the South African subsidiary of the world's largest rough diamond producer by value, has described as "highly prospective" and which is attracting fresh exploration work with modern techniques. "Our philosophy in SA and Botswana is to go back to areas that were previously mined for diamonds and deploy modern exploration techniques. Kimberlites are usually found in clusters so those would be the best places to start looking for them," Campbell said on the sidelines of the 2018 Junior Indaba. The most advanced of the three areas is known as Thorny River near Mokopane in Limpopo, an area where De Beers operated the Marsfontein diamond mine and which Campbell knows well.Botswana Diamonds is in the early stage of talks with Cape Town-based SLA Capital which owns mothballed Klipspringer diamond mine, to see what opportunities there were to work together, he said.Among the opportunities that Botswana Diamonds could consider would be the Voorspoed diamond mine that De Beers has put up for sale in the Free State.

Botswana Diamonds, Vast JV is "first step" in to ZimbabweBy Brendan Ryan - June 5, 20180117   ?BOTSWANA Diamonds' move to set up a joint exploration venture with London-listed junior miner Vast Resources looking for diamond deposits in Zimbabwe is a "first step" into the country, according to Botswana Diamonds MD, James Campbell.Interviewed on the sidelines of the Junior Indaba being held at the Country Club in Johannesburg Campbell commented: "Vast Resources have a very long history in Zimbabwe so at this point we are working to identify areas where we could work together.  It's very much toe-in -the water stuff at this stage, nothing more".Campbell added: "You have to start somewhere. We believe Zimbabwe to be highly prospective. Like Botswana, South Africa, Lesotho and Swaziland, it sits on the Kaapvaal Craton which is an enormously prospective area so from a geological perspective Zimbabwe ticks that box.??"From the geo-political perspective Botswana is clearly the best destination for diamonds because it ticks both boxes but it is highly competitive. South Africa is behind Botswana in terms of its political risk perspective and Zimbabwe is even further behind on risk."But, with the changes being brought in by the new regime in Zimbabwe , it's now an area which juniors can start to have a look at."Asked about the Zimbabwe's government's stated policy of maintaining  platinum and diamonds as "strategic minerals" – meaning any new mine would have to be 51% owned by Zimbabweans – Campbell replied: "We are  basically feeling our way at the moment."We have not committed anything significant in terms of resources. Typically the Juniors go in first and the majors come in afterwards. Let's hope that after the next elections things really start to stabilize and, who knows, that strategic minerals thing may change."We are a first mover and that's the role of juniors. You need a funnel of projects coming through and we believe Zimbabwe can provide additional resources to what we already have in Botswana and South Africa."Campbell said that, so far, only three commercial diamond mines –  River Ranch, Marowe and Marange – had been discovered in Zimbabwe. "But there are a vast number of other kimberlites many of which were discovered by De Beers and other companies but which have not been looked at through the lens of modern technology."Campbell and his chairman at Botswana Diamonds – John Teeling – are the team which – as African Diamonds –  developed the AK6 kimberlite pipe in Botswana which has been in production since 2012 and is now owned by Canadian miner Lucara Diamonds Corporation. But De Beers originally discovered AK6 – then left it – but subsequently became African Diamonds' senior partner at AK6 and funded much of the development work before walking away from the project a second time.Campbell commented: "In a way, the Zimbabwe situation is like the AK6 debate. AK6 was discovered by De Beers in 1969. They walked away from it because it was low grade and small. With the advent of new technology it was shown to be much bigger and much higher grade". Botswana Diamonds is involved in two exploration joint ventures in Botswana and one exploration joint venture in South Africa. It has now formed a 'special purpose vehicle' jointly owned with Vast Resources to develop and exploit diamond resources in Zimbabwe.
