tsmith,

You have to remember that Bluebird are a client of TW's so you can expect him to be supportive.

If you read about the implosion in China, I'm not so sure about copper prices personally, I think gold looks the safe bet, followed by silver.

Figs are at current copper prices - I expect copper will move up quite nicely..as low interest, global accommodating QE etc..

I'm happy to trust a management that delivers on what it says, yes sometimes news may be out of blue but all of that is in market place..

tsmith unfortunately some of the news (which is out of their hands) which may come may stop the directors delivering what they thought they may deliver.

tsmith,

It's a bit woolly, and looks as though they rushed it out as the share price is under pressure.

"Up to" isn't an exact figure, and this is an early stage result, they will need more before they can start making exact statements.

I guess they hoe people will multiply the profit per ton by 20,000 and get excited, I can't see any other reason for putting this out.

I hope their local partners survive the mining audit being carried out, only Philippine companies have failed so far, so Bluebird should ensure they are using best practices.

dros1,

Well Rodriguez seems to think open pit is akin to rape and pillage of the environment, so a new open pit project looks unlikely to be approved under her tenure.

On that basis the copper trading looks the way to go.

its good that Batanga project is on hold new, d'ont know why they invested thre in the first place. they have started working on it over 10 years and its going to take 100 more years to get the permit. the locals there are strongly against the mine and with the new government, no chance this mine will be build. let them concentrate on the trading business and see what they come up with
