bokies. I have to correct you on one tiny detail about ARM, if only to put it into a clearer context regarding what can be possible.

Between that 50p and that £18 there were several splits so that someone who paid £500 for 1,000 ARM shares at 50p ended up with 36,000 shares at £18 each. He would have got £648,000 when ARM was taken over without ever having to fork out for any more shares after his initial £500 stake.

I wish I had known about ARM when it started out.

Blue prism gets a short mention in this weeks Money Weeks cover story out today. Says despite pretty impressive share price performance over the years, the long term outlook is compelling. Page 26.

IMO all stocks and markets went through a correction.
Those who rose a lot were more hit than others but corrections occur from time to time and this is a normal market fluctuation. Stocks like PRSM will grow strongly in the long term and only the patient investor will be the winner. I remember ARM Holding hitting 50p when it gave a profit warning. It was taken over by Infobank at £18. Same for Autonomy reaching 95p to be also sold at £25 to HP. WAND came down to 75p from £16, then went all the way up to £12.
Now it is around £5. So some stocks are more volatile than others but it is not always that one gets a sound growth company. I really believe PRSM - if not taken over - will deliver huge growth in 2/3 years. So for a long term holder, the share price correction over a 2/3 year period will appear as a small blip on the chart. Of course the stock could also split possibly by 5 if it reaches say £50 in 2/3 years which is a good thing for PI's. So long termers should not look too much to the daily share price variations.

I shouldn’t of taken a look! That was very much below the belt. The guy is just scum, plain and simple. He obviously has serious issues, putting people down to bring yourself up is as low as it gets! Why not the LSE forum guys, it’s moderated right?

Forget Blue Prism, this growing small-cap could be a leader in the next bull run

What a fantastic run investors in robotic process automation specialist Blue Prism Group (LSE: PRSM) have enjoyed since the firm listed on the stock market in March 2016. At today’s share price around 1,550p (and falling), the shares are up an astounding 1,176% since the first day of public trading just two-and-a-half years ago. And they’ve been much higher, exceeding 2,500p as recently as September.

Great operational progress
The firm’s operational progress is the catalyst for the move up in the share price. Revenue is up around 300% since the company arrived on the stock market and operating cash flow runs close to £8m from almost nothing. The firm develops software robots to automate routine back-office clerical tasks and blue-chip customers are snapping it up. The potential in the market is huge, which reflects in Blue Prism’s robust revenue projections.

However, there’s a problem. Speculation has driven the share price way ahead of events and that’s why we are seeing such a vicious correction now. Even at 1,550p, the price-to-forward-sales ratio is an eye-watering 18 for 2019, and no-one is suggesting that the company will turn a profit next year – profits could be years away if they arrive at all.

Don’t get me wrong, I think the underlying business is performing well and the firm seems to be capturing accelerating sales from a rapidly expanding market. However, with projected revenue for 2019 running close to £86m and the market capitalisation at £1.14bn, I think there is a significant disconnection between operational progress and the valuation.

Mark Minervini – one of the modern era’s most successful stock traders– would probably describe Blue Prism as a market leader because it was one of the shares that led the charge in the bull market we have just enjoyed. However, he cautions that each new bull market tends to start with new leaders and the old outperforming stocks rarely lead in the next bull market after a significant correction in the market.
