06/10/2020 18:50 | Hi guys, fairly new here and find Bloomsbury very attractive. Main concern for me is their CEO nigel newton selling off nearly 250k worth of shares, around 10% of his stake... is this something anyone has any knowledge of, (does nigel have personal Cashflow issues during lockdown?). A little alarming as quite high. No one else is selling though... | nicola_w
06/10/2020 13:46 | Couldn't resist a few more at 192...that's enough for me now...I think :-) Seems pretty weak and friendless given the recent upbeat pronouncements, with plenty of stock seemingly available. Just have to sit back and see what becomes of it | cwa1
06/10/2020 09:54 | Should be good for at least £2.05/10 imv. Usually tend to underestimate price, so £2.10 plus, perhaps. | essentialinvestor
06/10/2020 09:39 | Added some more, results 27th October | frazboy
06/10/2020 08:34 | Use the most recent total votings rights RNS (81.6m) and, say a holding RNS from maybe October last year (75.3m) and you get the approximate dilution, which I make 8.3%. But I was obviously being a bit thick because I had it down as 12% (which doesn’t tally with the cash raise and the dividend shares). So, yes, thanks for the correction more like 212p in old money - slightly better value! | frazboy
06/10/2020 06:49 | frazboy: Are you sure you are not over-stating the dilution - that would have been one heck of a dividend payment! Wall Street Journal has total shares as 79.10M. 1.96 * 79.10 = market cap of 155, which is only a couple of mill greater than ADVFN has it. What do you make the total shares amount? | netcurtains
05/10/2020 16:08 | Bought another 1k at 196p which is 220p in old money (pre the dilution of the last few months). Still looks okay value tho | frazboy
05/10/2020 15:55 | The share price has moved Up 4 times from current levels to approx £2.15 plus over the past 6 months | essentialinvestor
05/10/2020 14:58 | I bought a few more too as the price seemed quite good at present (I guess someone sold some). | netcurtains
05/10/2020 13:09 | My take fwiw is the outlook may surprise on the upside. The current price may look very cheap over the next couple of years. | essentialinvestor
05/10/2020 10:36 | thanks netcurtains. I don't think we need to worry about declining sales in the two months of the first half (July/August) that we haven't had an update from the company for. | frazboy
05/10/2020 10:34 | I'm hoping they will reinstate a cash dividend with the results. | arthur_lame_stocks
05/10/2020 09:43 | Added another 2,000. | essentialinvestor
05/10/2020 09:22 | Yes EI, when I got mine at 195 as quickly as I did I knew there must be a seller about and almost regretted buying mine at that price...but...life's too short for regrets, innit?! | cwa1
05/10/2020 09:11 | Ĺooks like there is a seller around currently. | essentialinvestor
05/10/2020 08:43 | frazboy: (green line is 2020, navy line 2019 - And I think 2019 was a good year too - these are USA figures): | netcurtains
05/10/2020 07:50 | Had a small amount of dividend cash sloshing about the bottom of one of my accounts, so decided to put an order on the book for BMY at 195.5p just to use it up(I already have a decent holding in BMY in that account). Blow me if it wasn't all taken a couple of minutes later. Someone seems to be happy to offload around this area. Be sure you know what you want :-) Hoping that the upbeat outlook expressed in the last update has been continued and fingers firmly crossed for 27/10 | cwa1
05/10/2020 07:05 | The good thing about the BOOK industry compared to the FILM industry is that the author works alone. Sunday Times reports good retail sales so I would expect bloomsbuy's books to get their fair share of those sales this Christmas. | netcurtains
02/10/2020 13:44 | We'll need to wait for the HY results end October-ish to know how the company is performing. Perhaps they may even tell us if they have any acquisitions in the pipeline - it would be good to see some of the cash pile (suitably adjusted for required working capital) either put to use or returned to its rightful owners. | frazboy
02/10/2020 11:01 | Looking at the Guardian a few months back (June 2020) it says this about Bloomsbury: One success story was revealed on Tuesday, however, when Harry Potter publisher Bloomsbury reported a 28% growth in consumer sales in the four months ending in June 2020. Previously, Bloomsbury had predicted that its print revenues could fall up to 75% due to coronavirus, but print sales actually rose by 9%. So theoretically (I guess) the current share price is significantly too low for the "known data".... | netcurtains
09/9/2020 18:16 | EssentialInvestor: Thanks thats why I bought the share. From my understanding BMYs CURRENT ASSETS are: £143M but ALL its LIABILITIES (not just current) only amount to: £80M - eg it has loads of ready money. Its MARKET CAP £157M but NAV is £140M So MrkCap MINUS NAV = £20M.... But it makes about £10M to £15M a year.... Something about that equation appeals to me (the £20M compared to the £10M profits). However my investments shade into trading too as I like to compare investments (not to fall in love with any) to make sure its still good. | netcurtains
09/9/2020 17:58 | This is not really a trading share, the share price does nothing for yonks and suddenly moves rapidly in either direction; at least from my experience. | essentialinvestor
09/9/2020 15:00 | Thanks. This book sounds a bit like some of the threads on ADVFN: | netcurtains |
