BRCI at 64p is a 6.25% yield paying 4p annually.

I suspect the intention for next year is 1p for each interim plus 1p+ for the final.

so from a new base of 1p per qtr we would still have an annualised 6.3% yield Revised total for current year is equivalent to 7.8% yield

... or hasn't noticed yet. Hopefully the former! Agree, sensible move (market has been pricing this in for a long time).

No reaction yet to announcement of dividend cut made within today's dividend declaration rns? Quarterly payment to reduce from 1.50p to 1.00p per quarter starting in Q3 (paid Oct) giving revised 5.0p target for current FY followed by 4.0p from 2017 onwards. Dividend Declaration - HTTP://www.investegate.co.uk/blackrock-com--brci-/prn/dividend-declaration/20160314101310P3CCE/ Since the publication of our Annual Report the sector has experienced further challenges as falling commodity prices have forced many companies to reduce or cancel their dividend payments, most notably ConocoPhillips and BHP Billiton cutting their dividends by 66% and 75%, respectively. In light of this the Board has revised its 2016 dividend target. It now intends to target a second quarterly interim dividend of 1.5 pence, followed by third and fourth quarterly interim dividend payments of 1 pence, making a total of 5 pence per ordinary share for the year as a whole. The Board intends to use revenue reserves to support this target if portfolio income alone is insufficient. Thereafter, the Board's intention is to maintain the quarterly dividend and grow this as market conditions allow.

Thanks for the info Neilby675. The AGM is being streamed live on 14th March. I'm hoping they can give some clarity on the dividends expected in the coming year. Hopefully they can at least keep it at 6pps, doubt with all the announced cuts they can increase it.

"During the month, the portfolio increased its exposure to higher quality energy names such as Exxon Mobil and continued to reduce higher cost names who face balance sheet and dividend pressure at current commodity price levels."

I agree with caution...I'd rather limit gains at the mo if it means not being too committed

I'm cautious on markets atm bt, these rapid whipsaw moves do not look healthy to me, traded some ISF from yesterday at the open, bought back and now out again, that is probably me done for the day. Had not expected that % rise today when buying yesterday, so just a bit of luck.

from todays Telegraph: "But perhaps the most important lesson to glean from the past 30 years of stock market crashes is that even those heavy falls in October 1987 ended up being little more than a stumble in the market’s long-term rise. The message here is that those who hold their nerve, investing steadily and regularly, should be able to ride out the storms, particularly when you consider the added power of reinvesting dividends."
