10/6/2021 17:53 | CC, I'm afraid you're clearly too stupid to understand the value of the intellectual property. The IP is worth a bazillion pounds. Unfortunately Amazon, Google and Microsoft are also all too stupid to understand the value of the IP despite owning various streaming services that one might think to which a variable rate codec would be suited and having enormous revenues. P&L sheets are antediluvian. BIRD is all about IP which is clearly priceless but can only be understood by visionaries like NickB not by you or other buffoons like Bezos, Page and Nadella. | mcsean2164 | |

10/6/2021 09:46 | NickB No. That's why even if I could I wouldn't invest despite the fact that he really is an extremely good butcher. I do understand that BIRD could potentially be used by many hundreds of millions even billions but from its figures it's not doing that now. They have had links with AWS, MSFT, Google Cloud and others in the past but is there any real evidence that has produced an ongoing stream of business? The Tata deal looks like being much more productive but its still early days. I also understand that big deals take much longer to sign up but from memory we have been on the OEM tack for well over two years. It has shown some good wins but the numbers won suggest that the pipeline isn't vast if they are actually achieving a conversion rate that is going to make the business fly. You know the industry so if you had a product that is widely acknowledged as a disruptor, ahead of competitors, gets very good reviews from users, saves them a lot of money, produces less greenhouse gases, generates very high margins etc what would you expect as a conversion rate for businesses that contact you? The seminars last year that were run as the pandemic took hold were by all accounts well attended so what happened to all of the leads that were generated? It is perhaps a common dilemma for the small number of companies with truly disruptive capabilities. It is understandable that SS may not want to be subsumed by a tech giant but this might be better for smaller shareholders...and IM? | horneblower | |
10/6/2021 08:19 | SS is not a salesman. They pulled consumer and are now reliant on big infrastructure deals. It's a difficult position because companies must be courted and will see considerable risk dealing with a small cap. The good news is market cap has increased but I really feel covid19 has done us no favours. I believe IM needs to focus less on share price and more on customer collaboration. His tech speak has improved but needs to improve further. Hopefully this will be the year bird flies. | mcsean2164 | |

10/6/2021 07:49 | I have been reviewing BIRD's progress with my chief investment adviser. She has noted: - the prizes BIRD has won that mark it out as the owner of extraordinary technology - the blue chip customer list - the extraordinary number of customers willing to praise it BUT In the light of the plus points she has also seen that significant deals seem to be rarely announced. The latest deal with TownNews was a welcome extension of an existing contract so the last new large win was EVS announced on 08/03/2021 over 3 months ago. She accepts that large deals take a long time to negotiate but counters that they have now had years since IM was appointed and there is still no sign of the acceleration she would expect from a technology company in BIRDs enviable position. She remarked that our local butcher's turnover was undoubtedly more than that shown for 2020. She highlighted the many remarks about how BIRD has experienced a large number of enquiries, is talking to large potential users, pursing OEMs and even sitting down with one of the major powers in the market. Taking all this into account she has marked her BIRD card as Underperforming and asked what I think is causing the lack of consistent progress. I have no idea. Can anybody explain why BIRDs progress is still so patchy and lacks consistency? RNS about shareholdings and smaller customers are no substitute for paying customers and we should not forget that after over 20 years on AIM BIRD has the unenviable record that it has not yet broken even or created a positive cashflow. | chriscallen | |
