I360, Token ring was better networking technology than ethernet but Ethernet won. Marketing not birds strongest suit.

SSB Good to be sceptical and things we don’t know about can bite us so it’s all a calculated risk.

Invest360 They don’t really have any Technology as such they are just using old off the shelf traditional methods so no real edge, our Blackbird tech as you know is a huge differentiator and has a lot of technical headroom for demanding jobs. Key as you well know is our unique Blackbird video codec the competition just can’t match that in the Cloud. Google has checked our true Cloud technology and they like us and that wouldn’t happen with Grabyo product. All Imho so could be wrong but after NAB deals I think we will be really in a good place. Need some details. Hints are strong from the company

How many hints do you all want. IM on Vox markets in his words teasing investors. Advanced talks and figures being delayed. Keep buying, especially down here, below 16p. IMHO.

Thanks NickB. It looks like they’re BIRDs closest competitor. It would be good to understand how much of a threat they are. Are they cloud-native? How does their technology and product offering stack up against BIRD I wonder?

Chris I see it as great marketing, take a look at the type of people that attend SVG So makes sense to me that it’s Adrian.

Invest360 Some basic overlap but they lack our technology advantage and broad Video market appeal I would say. Nice customer list so keep an eye on them.

It's always dangerous to read to much into what is written but does anyone else think it odd that the SVG Europe news was fronted in the release by Adrian Lambert? At very least it suggests that IM is very busy elsewhere.

NickB. What do you make of Grabyo? I believe they are currently servicing DAZN and a lot of the same customers that BIRD is targeting, like Fix Sports and the Premier League. Presumably that’s pretty direct competition?

Richard No competitors for Cloud native video editing. Competition could be virtualisation running conventional editing software on a server in the Cloud basically a Remote Desktop or other very clunky downloading techniques. So we have something very unique that has taken decades of development. Stephen was incredibly ahead of everyone with this. We are in a very strong position let’s see if Blackbird can become a global standard Very interesting times imho

I can’t put a value on the IP without having any indication as to what it could earn when it is finally commercialised . Hopefully it could be very substantial but it is supposition at present . It is looking encouraging but not out of woods yet . Nick - do you know of any potential competitors ?

Could BIRDs technology could meet the pressing needs of social media providers? hxxps://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/tech-giants-risk-fines-or-ban-for-failing-to-protect-children-lnjfdnmp0 Criminalising the failure to remove content puts a real incentive in place to identify and remove offending posts.

New report from DPP which is the U.K. media industry body DPP report reveals widespread adoption of cloud working DPP managing director, Mark Harrison, said: “People have been talking for a decade about how connected and cloud-led workflows could transform production processes. We wanted to find out if we have finally got to the point where technological maturity and business need have come together to make such a transformation possible. And the answer is they have. What is most striking about this incredibly diverse set of use cases is that each is motivated by a drive to be a more effective business. Ultimately these companies are seeking a competitive advantage.” Harrison will present the key findings of the Next Gen Production at the Media Production and Technology Show on 13 May. Who We Are The DPP is the media industry’s business network. We’re a membership organisation that uniquely brings together over 400 companies spanning the whole content supply chain.
