Just noticed that the attendees for that Shares Magazine event I posted about are last year's attendees. So Bioventix may or may not be presenting. One to watch, I guess.

Could be right about dividends being reinvested. But the trades are for round amounts.

Hydrus. Well thanks! ShareSoc is an excellent organisation with some great people who give their time for free. Its new leadership have made many improvements. On a personal level I appreciate the kind words.

Sorry guys, bit vague. There's an interview with a successful private investor / banker type guy on the XLM bulletin board. He makes a very positive comment about BVX and how he expects revenue and profit to continue to grow strongly over the next 15 years. It's just after 15 minutes or so of the interview.

Agreed - that is just self publicity as there is nothing in the link which justifies sharing the link.Sharesoc - must remember to cancel my membership. Bunch of old farts who just like a bit of status.

Yep - it's a shame to have to filter people, but sometimes, it just has to be done. Larva looks like one such case.

Larva filtered - happy to read contrarian views but no value in reading posts that are unresearched and/or just plain incorrect.

Larva - FinnCap were forecasting EPS for FY 2017 in the mid 70s. The company eventually delivered 96p of earnings. Only part of this was attributable to the strength of the USD and Euro vs GBP. The currency effect was less pronounced in H2 than in H1. Despite this EPS grew 50% in H2 over the corresponding period in FY 2016. True, the Company did caution over the speed of Troponin take up but any shortfall in FY 2018 will be offset by very strong growth in Vitamin D and other royalty streams. Troponin revenues will be substantial over the medium to longer term. Always take Bioventix's forward projections with a pinch of salt. It always under promises and over delivers. Thanks for your post but it does not become any more accurate by posting it twice.

Many thanks indeed for your summary robinnicolson. Much appreciated. Go BVXP! Wish I held more than I do but still not complaining. Will look for any top-up opportunities if the markets start to show any weakness. So far that doesn't look likely! Something has to give though IMO, can't have new highs week after week and the 30 anniversary of one of the bigger crashes just passed if I am not mistaken!

Lauders, the first 10 minutes of the video was spent with Ashworth-Lord outlining his investment approach. He invests from a business perspective, only buying shares in companies with an economic moat i.e. a barrier to entry. He looks for high profitability of sales and a high returns on capital. He looks at how much accounting profit is turned into free cash and also likes businesses with strong balance sheets and little gearing.
He also looks for businesses which are predictable to a high degree of certainty over the next 3, 5 to 10 years. Management should also rationally allocate capital.

He was asked to give some examples of businesses he has invested in. BVXP was one of three examples (the others being GAW and RWS).

He described BVXP as a 'wonderful, wonderful company', which he gave as an example of a business with a must-have proprietary technology or 'know how'. It almost has an annuity income from the royalties it receives and has a barrier to entry (long time for regulatory approval).

Currently BVXP is his second largest holding, constituting just over 5% of his fund of 31 investments.
