The sector or specifically BIOG? Recovered some now - they were down over 40p / 5% at the open.

Large fall in share price this morning with a few sells. NAV at 867p suggests a discount now of around 13% compared to the more usual c.7%. Anyone any ideas on the reason for the drop in sp? I know BIOG share price can be a bit volatile but usually that's caused by similar movement in NAV.

I have seen a presentation fwiw and believe that this sector is one not to be out of long term. £1000 invested in IBB- Biotech Index in 1993 would be now worth £1,483,000. Makes you think about holding long term if you have young children.

It has the potential to be a bubble, but I am reassured by a) the frequent mini-crashes and b) the discount!

I sold some at £5.50 and £6.40 thinking the same; I think we are both wrong but I guess it's about risk management.

Sold out of my holding today for a healthy proper profit. Worried this could be like a dotcom bubble. Good luck to all those that hold

Article in Moneyweek saying biotech stocks could be in bubble territory any thoughts?

Agree. Hargreaves L has yesterday's NAV estimated at 857.46 (which admittedly looks high to me after yesterday's selloff).

Nothing can rise this quick without having a major sell off when the market turns.

yes - couldn't resist 747 - few more. This usually bounces back quite firmly once it's shed a quid or so.

I think this is a quality trust and I'm looking to get in on a long term basis. Short term, if the market wobbles, I think this could drop a long way very quickly, so I'm holding off at the moment: it's still up 50% in less than 6 months.

I was thinking of selling at 870 a few days ago. But have just put in an order to buy some more at 7:40. This is got to be a bargain surely

Not unrelated at all. I manage 8 small accounts in my overall equity portfolio and 3 additional accounts are managed on a discretionary basis. There is some cross over between these accounts and if I am unable to place a bargain directly for whatever reason, I will telephone the director that manages my discretionary accounts and give authority for the bargain to be made by their team. Dealing costs in such transaction are 2% and a broker note follows in the post.
