Because most biotech firms are in the USA so it depends how they go in the afternoon. If you look at IBB (ETF) on here (easier to see on a spreadbetting site) it gives you an idea;yesterday quite a big drop which mostly recovered later.

Is there any particular reason why this share always starts brightly in the morning and seems to fade as the day goes on?

I'm using Stop Losses, so may not get today's price but still will get out at a decent profit, but also keep any gains.

Trick is - picking the right level... only time will tell on whether i've done that.

Taken a chunk out today. The rest can go to a tenner if it wants.

What a fund! Had I not trimmed my holding several times taking profit from c£6 would now have £60k in fund instead of £20k.

Ah, great performance!!

Swiss, listed in Switzerland, Germany and Italy.

I suspect that this has benefited very much from the strengthening CHF, but a good tip to look into, thanks.

Interestingly - looking at the last 3 years I see pretty much parity!

Richtea1701 - there are a small handful as good as this one - look at the trustnet.com Inv Trust performance tables - especially the annual performance tab

Will do re: Woodford ( )

i am struggling with where to put a stop loss on this bad boy, it's been pretty volatile lately so i don't want to get dumped out for no real reason, but would like to protect myself just in cast it (read: World economy) all goes to hell in a hand basket.

I think it has to be somewhere around one of these: 700/645/630

I don't want to sell out for no reason and it has recovered and some every time recently.

The 630 seems to be the Fib 50% retrace line after the climb from 500, but why pick 500 etc etc etc

Any thoughts?

I prefer BIOG management though.

Heard somewhere that Woodford is considering starting a BIOTECH fund, which could be quite interesting. He holds a fair few unlisted early doors tech companies already, so has visibility of what is coming from the innovation side of things as well as being a believer in the Big Pharma's.

Has slightly underperformed IBT over last 3 months probably due to the latter's narrowing discount to NAV.

Another dip if you missed last week. Based on Gilead Sciences taking a hit as rival gets approval for Hepatitis drug.No worries for me.
