There is an alternative outstanding biotech trust, BB Biotech, (ticker BION on Swiss SWX/ISIN CH0038389992 and certain European exchanges) which has been vastly outperforming BIOG year to date , operates buybacks and pays a 3.5% annual dividend, trading at over a 20% discount. I believe its overall annual fees are slightly lower than BIOG. Investors need to access this trust via brokerage accounts which permit trading in overseas/European markets.

Very good move over the last 6 months; held since £1. Going to check IBT now and WWH; I sold Polar.

Yes, we seem to be stuck in the 450-500 range at the moment don't we? Mind you - with a NAV of 519 or thereabouts it will only take a change in sentiment to see that range broken to the upside. The constant slow purchase of shares by the Trust is also a positive move for us, so all in all - i'm still here waiting patiently :-) It'll only take a good couple of trial results or a drug launch to see this be much more positive. Stated policy is to purchase own shares such that the discount to NAV is no wider than 6%.

Softly Softly she creeps up the chart. Still holding and still confident in the long term. looks like a few duffers got shaken out in the recent slump, but the potential in this space for a fund like BIOG is huge.

Just reading Annual Report and Accounts- impressed. "Your Board believes that the long term investor in the biotechnology sector will continue to be well rewarded." fwiw, I agree.
