13/2/2004 15:21 | Lizzie Thanks for that. Yes, I should've known better on my little flutter but I'm happy to hold for the forseeable future and who knows I may yet up with a profit, let's hope you're right! I will have a look at the earlier messages on this thread. Thanks once again. p.s. MMD up a little today. Let's hope some good news is coming soon. | barlesby
13/2/2004 09:53 | Barlesby, I am also happy to continue to hold MMD .... and also BNX. I first bought into BNX two weeks ago today, at less than 1.4p, so at current level that purchase has nearly doubled. But I am not selling out yet as I remain convinced that these are a good medium term investment. Why? BNX have gone up on the back of a potential ARK float. But ARK is only one of the good investments made by BNX. It is only a question of time before the market looks at the wider potential of BNX ... and rates them accordingly. So I think that these will reach 5p sometime during 2004 .... but how early in 2004 is difficult to say. But as I said when I posted into the MMD thread .... DYOR. A good starting point might be all those helpful links in the first message in this thread. | lizzie ii
12/2/2004 19:24 | blackbear I'm happy with my MMD research and my decision to hold. As a matter of fact I'm well ahead on this one and await the March statement with interest. Don't forget the management changed last summer and imho they must be given every chance to redeem the past. Time will tell. I do agree money is fast running out and March could be crucial. Thanks for your concern. Unlike this particular 'fun' punt, I'm afraid I was a little lax but that's now history. | barlesby
12/2/2004 17:57 | barlesby , u should dyor on mmd also , read back on the thread's about 3-4 years should be enough , the management are full of broken promises... imho | blackbear

12/2/2004 08:46 | If you've been asked to buy by someone like that it is possible that there is a share issue 'in the wind'. Any thoughts on that comment? Cheers john | one for the money
12/2/2004 08:27 | No, I wasn't, my attention was drawn by lizzie11 on the MMD thread. My only excuse for falling for these was I thought I could make a quick 10% and in the process I got burned. My fault I'm afraid.... alittle thing called greed. Why do you ask the question? I might add I never usually listen to others and it shows the dangers awaiting for those jumping in at the wrong time. | barlesby
12/2/2004 08:18 | Sorry for being slightly off topic but as a matter of interest was anyone encouraged to buy these by Hoodless Brennan ? | pharmadude
12/2/2004 08:09 | Oh dear, I've caught a cold on this little flutter (down 30% in three days). Serves me right for not doing my research thoroughly enough. Looks like I'll just have to tuck these away and wait for a recovery, hopefully. | barlesby
11/2/2004 20:20 | From what i can see, they don't seem to have cleared today's big sells, so might expect a drop tomorrow morning? Cheers john | one for the money
11/2/2004 19:24 | Thx for that ah. Useful stuff. If Ark haven't even got feedback yet that means a float is a month away, if not two months or more - a lot can go wrong in that time. And if you work out the figures on an Ark £150m m/cap, there's not much premium left in BNX's own m/cap at the moment IMO. But I could be wrong. | rivaldo
11/2/2004 18:46 | and here is a new article today Ark Seeks Listing On London Stock Exchange Via £50 IPO By Nuala Moran BioWorld International Correspondent LONDON - Ark Therapeutics Group plc is feeling out investor appetite for what would be the first listing of a biotechnology company on the main market of the London Stock Exchange in three years. The London-based company is looking to raise up to £50 million (US$92.3 million), giving it a market capitalization of up to £150 million. A spokesman said there is no feedback, as yet, from investors. Ark is making the move because it feels the market environment is much improved in Europe, and it is encouraged by the recent biotech initial public offerings in the U.S. It is not the first time the company has stuck its head above the parapet: In May 2002, it tried to re-open the IPO window after 18 months without a biotechnology flotation in the UK. On that occasion, Ark pulled out at the last minute, citing the state of the market. The Nasdaq Biotech Index fell 30 percent in the six weeks between the announcement of the flotation and Ark's decision to withdraw. Ark specializes in gene therapy, drug targeting and vascular diseases. It believes it is a stronger contender than other companies to end the IPO drought because its products are relatively more advanced, with three late-stage programs and one device, Kerraboot, for dressing leg and foot ulcers, recently launched. 11/2/2004 18:24 | Good luck one for the money. I see a director (James Noble) has disposed of 1m shares (around half his holding), so let's see what happens from here. It's been a profitable ride, but without specific (Ark?) news I'm not sure how long the price will hold these levels. Mind you, the volumes are amazing - almost 20% of the shares have been traded in just 2 days - which does indicate something's up. | rivaldo
11/2/2004 17:50 | Blackbear Not shorting really. I had to sell some (fortuitously at 3.1) to close a position elsewhere. Only too pleased to be able to get them back with a profit. My philosophy is long term dealing in these shares - this was just a pleasant blip! Cheers john | one for the money
11/2/2004 17:11 | Im out at 2.95 first thing 200% profit for me ... john u must be crazy short term trading such a stock , look at the spread now , wish u all the best with it anyway.. | blackbear
11/2/2004 12:28 | Took the opportunity and bought back the shares I sold at 3.1 Grab it while you can, I Say! ...but, as ever, DYOR! Cheers john | one for the money
11/2/2004 12:22 | Trade Type is shown as'B' i.e. Broker to Broker A transaction between two member firms where neither firm is registered as a market maker in The security in question and neither is a designated fund manager. | mre
11/2/2004 10:16 | 6,063,554 shares in one deal! What's all that about then? Who would be selling ... who would be buying .... that sort of quantity of shares? | lizzie ii
10/2/2004 19:49 | you cant equate the 1.5 Million that bnx invested in ark in that way. The money that bnx invested has moved the company on considerably taking them to the verge of a stock market flotation. What you need to do is analyse the pipeline that ark is and has been developing since the bnx investment but thats why we all fancy bnx and the ark flotation. Now CSFB have been appointed to make the study into a flotation bnx remains in an interesting position as the easiest way to gain exposure to an ark flotation. | a harris
10/2/2004 10:43 | Does anyone have any idea on current valuation figures - lets say ARK was valued at 100m as mentioned above - what % does Bionex hold, what would this be worth and how does this translate into the Bionex share price? | octopus100
10/2/2004 09:44 | Well well, I found my buy trade listed under T? I wonder why? | barlesby |
