05/11/2020 19:09 | How much has the US election had an impact on biome sp?A Biden win will drive the green agenda in the USA which can only have be positive for biome. Reckon this will be a good place to be. | jmf69
05/11/2020 15:48 | Customers don't move to bioplastics on cost reasons but as a differentiater in an increasingly environmentally conscious world. Gla | jmf69
05/11/2020 15:37 | At least we are getting a bit of news feed now, probably more in the last few months than the last 10 years. The oil price around $40 isn't helping much either. Long way for me to go,now down 86% on my book cost but going to hang on. Hopefully our day will come | morgannn
05/11/2020 09:25 | Some buyers this morning | jmf69
05/11/2020 07:11 | Yes the opportunity is enormous and it's being commercialised. | amt
04/11/2020 17:56 | Two key differences. 1) Pricing - It's my understanding that Bioplastics are now less cost prohibitive than before 2) More importantly - consumers were fairly unconcerned and oblivious to the damage that oil-based plastics were doing to our environment. In the past two years they've become far more aware and want to go green (hence the growing revenues for the Bioplastics division). This also feeds into pricing because it means companies/consumers are actually prepared to pay a little extra if they feel they are doing their bit to save the planet. Even if you couldn't buy or sell within the spread (which you can) it does actually encourage us long termers because it puts day traders off but more importantly, if Biome are ultimately successful, then the shares will multi-bag (spread becomes pretty irrelevant), otherwise it'll be very difficult to sell. Long live illiquidity for long term micro-cap investors. | michaelmouse
04/11/2020 16:32 | Yes but they have been here many times before - What is different? Possible false start? Yet again. Impossible spread even for long term investment. | pugugly
04/11/2020 15:41 | Alongside this are the more immediate contracts. From the trading statement :- "The Bioplastics division is working with an expanding list of potential new customers, particularly in the US." For me it all adds up to an exciting future for their Bioplastics division. The emphasis on plastic waste in the past two years has clearly acted as a "tipping point" for the use of Bioplastics. | michaelmouse
04/11/2020 15:31 | Yes Miles McNulty's thoughts mirror exactly what I was thinking after reading this morning's RNS. Particularly:- "This three-month project is being undertaken in conjunction with Suregreen, a leading manufacturer of tree shelters. Suregreen's team has extensive experience in the manufacture and sales of tree shelters and will involve its forestry customers in product assessment." | michaelmouse

04/11/2020 14:38 | There has been surging demand for bioplastics for many, many years. What there hasn't been is a CEO at Biome who can close deals.Mines must have had a flick back through his 'told them we were making these' list and decided he could do the tree cover one again ( it was tree ties first time round) and he's even got a grant to help him waste people's time!I hope this wasn't the 'big deal in the pipeline nudge nudge' that he must have used to get McNulty buying shares at a massive discount. | begorrah88
04/11/2020 10:33 | That is very true but public perception has changed completely since then as you can see from the surging demand for bioplastics. | jmf69
04/11/2020 09:18 | ....not to mention the golf tees, vine ties , strimmer plastic and many more ! | morgannn
04/11/2020 09:08 | That's surely old news rehashed as far as Biome is concerned, I recall the story way back ten years or so ago where they were selling a bio product to protect newly planted trees. | vaneric1
04/11/2020 07:11 | "This project is an exciting step towards supporting tree planting in a sustainable manner. Some 15 million tree shelters are already used in the UK each year and we are delighted to help Suregreen re-invent a product for this sector." | michaelmouse
30/10/2020 12:05 | Maybe he bought some of Mine's or Standen's pile they've been gathering over the years in a side deal :-) | vaneric1
30/10/2020 11:09 | JMF69 - Looks like a totally different business - That is unless he pocketed a significant sum in "compensation" on departure - No indication that I can see in the above rns unless implied in the words " with immediate effect " which can often hide personality clashes etc. RE the 165 paid - This is significantly over apparent prices shown for LSE trades indicated as buys at 160-159-157 | pugugly
30/10/2020 10:30 | Still £5k, and it's not unusual for someone at that level to have 12 month non compete in the contract | jmf69
30/10/2020 10:26 | There was a 3k trade on Aquis at 165 yesterday | jmf69
30/10/2020 10:11 | JMF69= Minimal cash amount for a new CFO - Tokenism? - To me a negative message unless short of cash having left his previous job some time ago -1 November 2019 | pugugly
30/10/2020 08:52 | No trade of that size (3000) reported that I can see yesterday.....a bit odd? DL | davidlloyd
30/10/2020 07:18 | Nice to see the new CFO buying shares | jmf69
29/10/2020 07:17 | Trading is in line with BioPlastics showing strong growth (the interesting bit). "Revenues in the Bioplastics division in Q3 at £1.6m were 48% ahead of the previous quarter (Q2 2020: £1.1m) and 131% ahead of the prior year comparative (Q3 2019: £0.7m). The division's revenues in the first nine months of the financial year stood at £3.8m, 93% ahead of the equivalent period last year (2019: £2.0m)." | michaelmouse |
