"The company manufactures bioplastic products and they are compostable within three months."

But not in your garden composter, they have to go to a commercial/industrial composter or they will take years to degrade.

Although they haven't advertised the fact the Coffee#1 chain already have compostable cups in their shops.

I only noticed when sitting having a coffee in Monmouth last week, their cups are marked 'compostable'

Company was quiet for too long. They must be proactive to win new deals

They have little chance in the EU market with Novamont to compete with.

The products are driven by customers and biome focus on products technically superior with qualities like heat resistant. No such requirement for masks and given that bioplastics are much more expensive than petro plastics, no one would pay the extra imo.Same reason they don't make bioplastic carrier bags... no margin. They need to get access to the European coffee pod market in the same way as the USA.

if they dont make the masks surely they can sell the material to those who do make them..id of thought the government would make it law to have biodegradable masks or its going to be one big litter problem judging by the number of sheep wearing them and just tossing old ones on the ground

This is one strange company! The ceo has very little skin in the game so what incentive is there for him to go the extra mile. The ultimate equity owners are the ones steering strategy and are obviously happy with mines achievement. In the right hands this could be a gold mine, as said missing out on covid masks was a schoolboy error that anyone with an entrepreneurial bent would have grasped.

That is Biome's USP They watch bandwagons roll through then go chasing after them when they are nearly out of sight.Expect Mines to announce they are commencing research to look into the possibility of doing some studies to establish if there is a market for biodegradable masks etc etc .........Can't believe he is still touting the 'significant potential' line 14 years after he first used it.There is a name for unrealised potential - failure.
