16/7/2020 17:09 | Hi Mate, sorry I don't pop in here that much... I'm glad your well... so many years mate .. and still jam tomorrow lol With all the money he's burnt through I find it astonishing he hasn't been moved on yet... so many years of disappointment's strip out the grant money and he would have single headedly killed this company.... it's just on life support now. I personally see them needing cash later this year.. I hope not for loyal holders but can't see them surviving without it. | sirmark

02/6/2020 14:05 | BBIA joins coalition of associations calling for ban on oxodegradable plastics in the UKThe BBIA has joined a coalition of trade associations calling for a ban on oxodegradable plastics in the UK.The BBIA has put its name to a letter to Environment Secretary George Eustice calling for a "total ban" on the use, sale and distribution in the UK of conventional non-biodegradable plastics containing additives, which accelerate the fragmentation of plastics into microplastics. The EU's Single Use Plastics Directive prohibits the placing on the market of single-use plastic products made from oxodegradable plastic, and the coalition is calling on the UK to maintain this regulation as it leaves the EU.The letter cites evidence from Defra and the EU refuting the claim that oxodegradable additives can transform polyolefin plastics into biodegradable plastics, as they merely accelerate the fragmentation of plastics into microplastics. Further evidence from the University of Plymouth in 2019 found that oxodegradable bags actually remained intact in the sea and soil after three years. These plastics are also unable to be recycled as they contain powders that render plastic polymers unstable when recycled together, while they are also unable to be composted, leading to confusion among consumers and retailers who consider them biodegradable as if they were compostable.A wide coalition of signatories led by the Ellen Macarthur Foundation called for a ban in 2017 and reiterated that call in 2018. The UK coalition again reiterates the call to ban oxodegradables.Membe | jmf69

26/5/2020 10:02 | Allost all stocks high in blue today. Almost.. | marmar80
01/5/2020 14:59 | begorrah88 - I can see why you're very skeptical if you go back beyond the past 5 years or so, but the BioPlastics division is now a very different beast in the market it addresses. Good luck with your investments. | michaelmouse
01/5/2020 14:38 | begorrah88 - I've been aware of BIOM for many years, and I know what their track record is like. It's only in the past two years or so that the plastic pollution problem has really hit the main headlines, and it appears to have been a significant catalyst for the interest in Bioplastics. Perhaps you should do yourself a favour and compare the 2019 revenues in Bioplastics to previous years. It's well above historical levels, and growing. In fact in the first three months of 2020 they equaled their record quarter of £1.1m in revenues (end of 2019). I've no idea what to expect this year which can be said for the vast majority of companies listed on the LSE, but the general trend for the medium and long term looks very promising. Not too sure who you're trying to convince? If it's me you're wasting your time, if it's yourself then maybe time to concentrate on a "safer" stock like Vaneric appears to have done e.g. Tesco. Micro-caps aren't for everyone. | michaelmouse
01/5/2020 11:52 | Michael,Do yourself a favour and revisit past BIOM trading updates and see how the +/- performance of bioplastics massively swings between quarters.Been the same for years, solid quarter then poor one and always explained away as a temporary timing issue/delay. | begorrah88
01/5/2020 09:09 | I took what remained of my money out and put it into Tesco when they had their financial scandal and their share price collapsed, it was my best investment decision, I've more than trebled my money since then by popping in and out as the share gradually came good. Looking forward now to the special dividend reported if the sale of their Thailand and Malaysia group is sold off. Biome remains a bad taste in my mouth. | vaneric1
01/5/2020 08:55 | I'm a greater believer in "actions are everything, and words mean nothing". As such I'm interested in management's overview of the business including competitors etc, but far more interested in the recent figures. If you're unclear about their business model then the Mello video is very informative. In Biome's case, the facts are that the BioPlastics division has improved enormously in the past year i.e. revenues are up more than 80% as the BioPlastics era appears to be coming of age. This is a fact. The RF division is cyclical and will always remain so. I'm most interested in the BioPlastics division. You're entitled to your views of course, but we see things very differently here. Good luck with your investments though. | michaelmouse
30/4/2020 17:03 | It's your money Micky so do as you please with it but I and many others have been here a very long time (pre 2000 for me) and know at our cost that if tomorrow ever comes it won't be with the current BOD in charge. | vaneric1
30/4/2020 16:28 | Btw I remember their previous incarnation as Stanelco. I wouldn't have touched them with a barge pole. At that time, like so many early stage companies, they told a good story but were valued at multi-millions with little revenue. Their Bio-plastics division are only now coming of age and the company is far better value at around the current £5m mark. Different proposition altogether. The RF division is pretty much in hibernation this year, but will revive again alongside the advent of 5G infrastructure. No guarantees that it'll ultimately be successful of course, but with £1.7m cash and no debt, it's better placed than many. | michaelmouse
30/4/2020 16:17 | Clearly you don't since it's nothing like you intimated. Secondly, how do you equate the 80%+ growth in revenues in the Bioplastics division to jam tomorrow promises? It's up to you of course, but maybe look at the company again in terms of future potential and not your past experience. | michaelmouse
30/4/2020 14:31 | I know what they do micky I've been to their AGMs and listened to their jam tomorrow promises too many times. | vaneric1
30/4/2020 13:26 | It's nothing like using a flour miller to produce flour for the bakers to make bread with. If you want an idea about their competition in the Bio-degradable plastics market then listen from around 22mins. It'll be well worth it. It's from the horses mouth (Paul Mines-CEO). They work alongside their clients for several years on development and hence their clients are very "sticky" i.e. not likely to look elsewhere because of the time they've invested. This in turn will lead to recurring revenues as existing clients continue to re-order and also growth as new products come on stream. Anyway listen to the video:- | michaelmouse |
