this_is_me: The share price is now just about back to the level it was before the 0.6p ex div.
dave4545: Good to see you both here. I wonder what the end game is here, are the bosses and major shareholders happy to wind this down with dividend after dividend or with Jim Mellon holding almost 30% will they surprise us with a acquisition ? Cash and working capital comes to 8p a share, that's some difference to the 2p share price. The price is saying the world is going to end for Bill but it's just a totally unloved quiet stock always has been apart from 1 or 2 spikes a year
dave4545: The biggest surprise CT would be the mm's letting this go or the share price trading at least a little nearer their cash levels. Remains 500k v 1k online :-))
davydoo: Expected drop on ex div, after all this business’ value is based on its assets not its future cash flows, but the question to ask is if the share price has dropped by the div amount has it made what’s left worth more, against lower share price? and I’d argue yes.
davydoo: I guess you could view it as getting 25% of the current share price for less than 25% of the net assets. So it does confirm the undervaluation
davydoo: Nice But i'm really not seeing this as a dividend in the usual sense, just a gradual disposal of the company's assets to its shareholders. I expect the share price to drop when it goes ex div Very glad I hold mine in a SIPP and am not facing an income tax bill on it though
simon cawkwell: Gentlemen, I am surprised by the share price affect this morning. After all, it was already known that an LEC problem might/would arise. In any event, what is the earnings effect? I just do not know. However, the tnav is still around double the current share price and presumably not merely offers support but renders the stock a buy at up to 6p. Does anybody else propose a different analysis/comment? Simon Cawkwell
someuwin: EK yesterday... "Billing Services (LON:BILL) reports a terrific set of figures and outlook this morning. EPS for YE12/16 were 4 USD cents. That is 3p. The share price is now 5p offer. That is very cheap. Remember: all the disputes with the FTC are settled."
gark: Topvest, why on earth do you still comment? Every time there is a conspiracy theory. They are currently conducting a strategic review which is why they didn't announce guidance. Last time they did that they returned 20p a share. Why would Evil Knievel comment and I quote "Billing Services (LON:BILL) reports a terrific set of figures and outlook this morning. EPS for YE12/16 were 4 USD cents. That is 3p. The share price is now 5p offer. That is very cheap. Remember: all the disputes with the FTC are settled." If there was something fishy going on and put his reputation at risk? Jim Mellon also said this was his only UK buy this year.
