16/7/2014 13:44 | Better today, will be interesting to see if the price can hold.Recent rises seem to have attracted sellers. There is always someone in the market that knows something.Whilst the failure to resolve top management is an issue i think the main problem is the uncertainty surrounding the business in Egypt.A major source of group profits has dried up and shows no sign of being settled. There may need to be big write offs here. | silverballs

24/6/2014 10:52 | All sorts of ideas are now available for the Board and I hope they come to a conclusion soon. There are large decisions to be made both as to the company structure and executive appointments as well as delivering the large projects in Brazil and Australia. Any one of these decisions would have a big effect on the share price. If a wrong decision is made, I suspect there are enough predators who would bid to maintain the current price.

10/6/2014 11:47 | Weekend papers suggested a move for Sam Laidlaw (retiring CEO at Centrica) as a possible for CEO at BG. This would be an excellent move for BG and Laidlaw would be out of the hot seat on a retail utility at Centrica. Although he would be very expensive his experience and track record in the industry is first class.

05/6/2014 09:27 | Earlier this morning there was a report on Sharecast of a gas discovery offshore Tanzania by Ophir/BG. I can't see it now and there is no RNS - anyone else got any info?
edit - found some info; gas column found in Taachui-1, but according to Daily Tel it is not as big as they had hoped. | bigbertie

28/5/2014 08:37 | Some analyst I've never heard of, at a Broker I've never heard of put out a note yesterday saying that "prevailing uncertainties" were clouding the outlook for BG's upstream projects, but that CEO resignation and current share price made "M&A activity" a possibility.
So interpreting the vague language I think he means their big projects have risks attached but there might be a bid.........no change there then! | bigbertie

While we believe BG's board is focused on value delivery through asset transactions, we also believe the current low rates environment at a time of global economic recovery is likely to encourage large M&A. Here, we consider scenarios of asset disposals with potential to result in proceeds equivalent to 36%-48% of BG's current market cap. We also consider the potential value that could be extracted in the form of pro-forma 2017E EPS accretion by a buyer in a takeover of BG. We estimate a valuation range of 1500-1800p could be justified based on recent transaction metrics; the low end would be EPS accretive to six of the possible buyers we consider, while accretion becomes marginal at the upper end. | miata
