If bg. Goes to 4.73 I will eat my hat. Please take time to evaluate the company. This is not a little tiddler. If they were to go to this price there would have to be something really kicking off in the world.

Is it fair to say that £8 technical range will soon be hit...then my level 4 target of £4.73

Sensible comments appreciated

I sold these in sept around the 1200p mark after their last results. They have developed a nasty habit of not delivering. Of course my timing wasn't great, but if it seems the best time to short these is just before their results. Its been a few years of not meeting expectation.

Comment on FT alphaville - incl from UBS.

2014 production is guided to 590-630kboed (UBSe 670kboed); LNG earnings to $2.1-
$2.4bn (UBSe $2.69bn). Average unit costs are also expected to be higher, primarily on
start up unit costs related to Brazil and Australia, with opex at $15.50-$16.25/bbl vs.
UBSe $12.78/boe and DD&A $12.25-$13/boe vs. UBSe $11.46/boe. 2015 production
guidance of 710-750kboed is a 9% downgrade on the mid-point vs. previous
expectations (UBSe 776kboed). 2015 LNG earnings are expected to be similar to 2014
(UBSe $2.9bn). Effective tax rate should remain around 41%. BG still sees itself FCFpositive starting from 2015, which is a compensation but potentially capex related.

The announcement is disappointing and affecting management credibility and the BG
investment case.

IMO one of the main causes for concern is the damage this does to the credibility of the new CEO, Chris Finlayson. Personally, I liked him when I saw & spoke to him at last year's AGM - but he needs to overdeliver & underpromise, not the reverse. Nevertheless, I like the company's assets & strategy & had been waiting for an opportunity to top-up, so did so early today.

Cheers,

Mark

It was the poor forward guidance that will see it drift imo.
If it retraces to £10 I could see myself taking a few but not before then.

This is not an AIM stock, it's in the top 20 of the FTSE100 so the chances of it going down and down are limited.

Can see it rebounding slowly over coming days/weeks.

The issues are short term really. Egypt needs its foreign currency. I can not see this issue lasting too far into the future. 14% off the price is a little excessive IMO.

To go short here requires a fair amount of nerve.

What are the odds us closing closer to 11 by the end of the day.

It'll be the first of many profit warnings, so I'm in with a short at this price.

Surely now is the time to buy more. This is not a tiddler of an aim stock! Buy low sell high. Simples. Look at the long term chart!

I'm pleased (smug?) I sold these and invested elsewhere, (post 1470), now paying CGT for sales in 2012.

Salpara , but does not the long term share price grow that bit more because of the low divi ?
