Dr B, An upgrade of 0.8tcf to 2C reserves is not material to BG (whereas it is to Ophir). Ohisay, Thanks for that! Mark

Not sure why BG didn't release this news alongside Ophir LONDON--Ophir Energy PLC (OPHR.LN) Wednesday announced the results of its Ngisi drilling program, Block 4 Tanzania and the upgrade of the recoverable resource across the Chewa-Pweza-Ngisi hub in Block 4 to 4.5 TCF, or trillion cubic feet,. MAIN FACTS: -Ophir holds 40% of Blocks 1, 3 and 4; BG Group PLC (BG.LN) perates with 60%. -Gas pay was encountered in the Ngisi prospect within a high net to gross reservoir interval. -The penetrations into the Chewa reservoir also encountered gas pay as prognosed and confirmed widespread, excellent reservoir characteristics. -As a result, these wells have increased the mean recoverable resource of the Chewa-Pweza-Ngisi hub from 3.7 TCF to 4.5 TCF, in excess of pre-drill expectations, in addition to derisking exploration upside in several nearby targets. -This drilling result has also further demonstrated the feasibility of drilling highly deviated wells which will be incorporated into development planning of the assets. -Deepsea Metro I drillship has now moved to drill the Mkizi-1 exploration well in Block 1. Mkizi is a 0.6 TCF prospect of Tertiary age, close to the Jodari discovery. -After Mkizi, appraisal of the Block 4 Pweza discovery is planned. -Shares at 0715 GMT, up 7 pence, or 2.1%, at 362 pence valuing the company at GBP2.09 billion.

I attended BG's AGM last month, which was excellent and informative. I've finally managed to complete a 5 page report on the AGM, which is available on ShareSoc's member network, here: hxxp://sharesoc.ning.com/xn/detail/6389471:Comment:22883 To access the report, you'll need to be a member of ShareSoc, which is a not-for-profit organisation that supports individual shareholders and campaigns for shareholder rights. If you're not already a member you can join as an associate FOC here: hxxp://www.sharesoc.org/membership.html Once you've joined, you'll receive an invitation to register for our "members network" private social network, from where you'll be able to access the report (and reports on over 100 other AGMs). Alphavalue are assuming the oil price drops to $66. I doubt the others are.

What do brokers know? How can it be possible for such a big difference in their recommendations? Fundamentally net asset value of BG is around 1900 so makes me wonder how can a broker come up with a price of 679. Alphavalue needs to check their calculations! I would not read too much in their recommendation. Share price should move over 1200 today.

In the last 2 weeks BG. has dropped from 1240 to 1171 which is in line with the general market and crude price. If it drops any further I am sure the bid rumours will start and push it back above 1200. Lately it has been very quiet on this board.

From 'Motley Fool' (I especially like the bit where they say the price for BG should be £20)..... "Analysts reckon BG's true net asset value could be nearer to £20 than the £12.30 the shares are currently trading at." They are going to give back 50% through sales while keeping production on 10-15 assets... They are Lean and Agile " The company has delivered an annualised total return of 18% over the past 10 years, which is double the return of the FTSE 100 and even further ahead of the below-market returns of BP (8%) and Royal Dutch Shell (7%)." Third and final thing is LGN..."LNG demand is expected to grow twice as fast as overall gas demand, and BG is well placed to capitalise on this growth. Recent newsflow -- on the company's huge LNG project in Australia and long-term sales contracts -- has been uniformly positive."

From chart point of view,in the short term the share price may come down as indicators suggest that BG has been overbought. Fundamentals are good so medium to long term it should move to 1400p.
