BG Group plc : South Sudan Oil Pipelines Set To Pump in Two Weeks

LONDON--A top official in South Sudan's national oil company said Tuesday that oil pipelines were primed to start pumping oil within two weeks.

"Technically, everything is possible," the official told Dow Jones Newswires, as oil workers had been maintaining the equipment while the oil taps were shut off and would be able to restart at short notice.

Officials said earlier Tuesday that Sudan and South Sudan had reached a deal to resume crude shipments from South Sudan through Sudanese pipelines and ports within two weeks. Teams had been negotiating at talks mediated by the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Traders and analysts have doubted the speed at which South Sudan could restart exports, given heavy damage inflicted on key oil facilities during border fighting.

South Sudan cut off its crude shipments in January 2012, estimated at roughly 350,000 barrels a day, amid a dispute with its northern neighbor over oil transit fees and a border dispute.

Thanks for that information. It shot up first thing in the morning after the production restart but since then it has dropped. IMHO I would expect the share price to move north and reach 12.25 very soon. It is consolidating at the moment according to charts....

Bolivia's state energy company YPFB has awarded new exploration areas totaling more than 500,000 hectares to Britain's BG Group (LSE: BG.L - news) and Brazil's Petrobras, the company said in a statement.

BG, which currently operates in the natural gas-rich South American country in partnership with Spain's Repsol (Philadelphia: REP-CK13-c.PH - news) , was awarded the 453,000-hectare Huacareta area, where preliminary studies indicate the likelihood of gas resources.

11.75 reached... now I think it will consolidate at this level before it moves to 12.25 and hopefully the Elgin field will have received the HSE consent and production commenced. BG: is trading at a big discount to its NAV.I never pay attention to Brokers recomendations.

"British Gas" has allocated this year more than 100 million dinars for research and exploration of natural gas in Tunisia," Chris Finlaysor, CEO of BG said Friday in Tunis.

In a meeting with outgoing Prime Minister, Hamadi Jebali, the official said that the group will seek to identify new ways to expand its activities in the country and explore the possibility of creating a fund that will be responsible for investment in several sectors, including infrastructure.

Phil, the delay in the HSE approval for Elgin field is holding the Share price. Approval is normally given within 30 days but in this case it has been delayed. share price will move up as soon as this approval is received and production commences.My initial target of 11.75 was reached but since then it has come down. Once the production starts my TP is 12.25.

".... BG added 16.5p to 1163.5p on hopes for its Brazilian business after Royal Dutch Shell paid $4.4bn for assets in the area. Andrew Whittock at Liberum Capital said:

"The market may look for a read through to the value of BG's LNG business. The characteristics of the assets acquired are not obviously a good comparator but (very rough and ready) Shell appears to have paid around 10 times 2012 estimated earnings before interest and tax – we value BG's LNG business on around 6 times so [this] could be positive."
