08/11/2012 12:11 | The gist from Deutsche Bank: "From a profit perspective and assuming gas delivered into Chile is essentially Hub plus, we estimate that the profit impact on BG's LNG trading business at likely under $100m net should be relatively limited. The move will however do little to enhance the group's reputation." | miata

04/11/2012 20:33 | BG PR department having a hopeless one :-) And in yesterday`s FT: ....By next February Sir Frank want to have convinced investors that BG, following his departure, will be able to maintain the managerial wherewithal and balance sheet strength to thrive as a maturing independent exploration and production player through this decade and beyond. But only if it survives that long. "You could see Exxon coming in, or the Chinese, in some kind of consortium," said one investor. "Everyone's been enviously looking at BG and all of a sudden, it's not so out of reach." | philanderer
04/11/2012 17:55 | FWIW - a chartists view... Weakness Overdone At BG Group? | philanderer
04/11/2012 17:53 | And a very negative Lex Column in FT yesterday saying.. "The problem for oil producers is that global demand for oil is growing at only half the pace of the years before the global financial crisis. For the international oil companies and their shareholders, all those zeros may actually be less important than they look." | philanderer
04/11/2012 13:29 | another article in the FT was arguing that the 44% premium to the sector was no longer warranted | the bear man
04/11/2012 13:26 | according to the FT, Deustche Bank cut is 2014 EPS by 20%. but the shares only fell 18% last week, so on that basis the rating has actually increased! | the bear man
04/11/2012 08:50 | Phil , thanks for posting the link , some searching questions asked by jason kenney and an unusual ending , ''phone us after and we will discuss it '' - no more questions . It appears that guidance had been too high with the brazil outlook being ahead of the operators view , exacerbated by problems in egypt and in the north sea. The analysts seemed concerned that the australia deal with cnooc , was not at a profit , i would therefore presume that the sale was effected in order to raise some cash and reduce the bg. share of capex for the project. Pretty negative stuff . | flyfisher
