Yay! I thought I was the only PI on the boards with an investment here.

I have my entire SIPP in this, I don't / wont be relying on my pension, but I do value this company / expertise. Remember, if the board depart so does the knowledge, Gartmore were similar...However, I don't envisage it, it still has to be accepted as a risk. This will be a slow road, but all the same a very interesting one!

I have enormous repect for his track record - but having recently looked at one of less successful investments (as it was about to go into administration)I know that he is human and does make mistakes. Like most VCs he believes he can move into markets that he knows little about at the outset - and rely on "industry specialists" to advise on the nitty gritty. And sometimes he gets it wrong!

Think we just need to have faith in Moulton's judgement santori. Speaking for myself, I would not be here were it not for his reputation. ;)

Liked the Gardner 'aerospace component' acquisition, not sure about Readers Digest one, some similarities to Sam Zell's purchase of the Tribune Company- hope it does not go the same way.

Won't post the RNS here, but did anybody notice today's acquisition? Interesting... I wonder how Moulton's going to re-inject life back into the Readers Digest? I look forward to finding out; I'm sure it will be a pleasant surprise in the fullness of time. ;)

keep on going down my little lovely I want you at a discount! I feel that a discount really is not off the cards if the Market recedes to 5000 or below and when that happens I will be in like a shot and sitting tight for a few years!

I'd suspect private and public companies with a sub 100 million market cap, given their premise to not invest more than £30 million (think I read that in one of the related newspaper articles) per company. Obviously, the companies they invest in and restructure will be in some kind of financial trouble, but have a business model that's not beyond redemption.

In terms of specific companies, I've no idea

Goz, you're quite right this could be a cracker in a few years and with some heavyweight investors already in and should motor once the first purchase is made.

Any idea what co's they may target?

just atarting to look into this after seeing some hot shot iis gettting involved....
Also Jon Moulton has a savage record with alchemy. I heard him talk about how other private equity firms will take longer to harvest returns because of course they bought in the bubble but with better cap this wont be a problem as it has only just been floated etc... Really could be a cracker in a few years.
