A study of more than 270,000 people recovering from coronavirus in the US found out that 37 percent of patients had at least one long Covid symptom diagnosed three to six months after infection. The most common symptoms were breathing problems

An increasing number as more people catch the Delta Variant --- some for the second time , the damage it will cause will be additive

That is to say if you catch it 3 or more times --- unfortunately your lungs are very likely to be in a very bad way

Some patients have had to have had lung transplants already after just catching Covid-19 once

This disease does long term damage to your lungs , The Mayo Clinic in the USA which is probably the best known TOP 10 Clinic in America have this to say :

Lungs.

The type of pneumonia often associated with COVID-19 can cause long-standing damage to the tiny air sacs (alveoli) in the lungs. The resulting scar tissue can lead to long-term breathing problems.

Currently there are a number of studies continuing looking into the issues of long covid in various age groups

These tend to be retrospective hence the Delta Variant is only now starting to factor in to relevant data sets so that it can be used for study results

Your post referred to 'Long Covid' - This NHS leaflet is given to patients when they leave hospital after an admission with acute Covid infection.So I am still unsure how this is relevant to what Belluscura offer

In the USA the same will be happening only with 6 to 10 times the market size of the UK --- one of the reasons Belluscura chose to sell into America first plus they make them there

The majority of American adults have high blood pressure with around 44% of them being obese ---- the need for home oxygen therapy is growing as a result of these facts when Covid-19 is factored in

The Delta variant is much worse in fatalities and organ damage to the body than what other variant strains have gone before

To date 'long covid' studies in children have come up with various percentage from 10% to 25% BUT they have not looked specifically at Delta

It is though that circa 33% of children will suffer 'long covid' due to this variant

In the USA, children make up 22% of the population

More detailed studies specific to children are badly needed

Well I'm more than happy with progress so far....important to remember that it's still very early days and just a case now of mapping future news back to this statement and the IPO document to ensure the expectations remain on track; or hopefully a long way down the track!
