the new owners of bll, have bought out of the company all the asset owned by the shareholders prior to the december 07 bll purchase. And paid very little for it. I say the deal should be reversed to give back the asset to the shareholders.

Now, it's here in Monterey County.

The Cannery Row IMAX Theatre officially opens Friday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the historic Edgewater Packing Co. warehouse, 640 Wave St., Monterey. The theater's first screening will be National Geographic's "Sea Monsters 3D."

It took theater owner Bella Cinema five years to make the project a reality, said chief executive officer and co-founder Fred Weinert.

Weiner said Wednesday that the biggest challenge he and business partner Stephen Crisman, a filmmaker, faced was finding a suitable address for their theater.

"The Edgewater Building's obviously a very well-suited location, as it's near a significant tourist population and close enough to the Monterey Bay Aquarium," Weinert said. "It's critical to be near the

aquarium, so we can put together programs that appeal to our customer."

The warehouse site is just blocks from the aquarium and part of the Cannery Row neighborhood, which draws about 8 million tourists each year. Once the location was chosen, the $8.5 million project took about a year to complete.

The 17,000-square-feet building houses a 290-seat theater with a 65-foot by 38-foot screen, as well as Italian-styled Edgewater Café and the elite Guy Buffet Art Gallery, featuring originals of the French-American professional artist.

Weinert said plans are under way to add a restaurant to the second floor this summer.

"We're trying to create a destination site on the Row for (tourists and local residents) to visit," he said.

The Cannery Row theater joins 300 IMAXs worldwide, with the nearest in San Jose at its downtown Tech Museum.

"It's a little different than our set-up," Weinert said. "We utilize the most current IMAX technology and projection system, but we're concentrating on 3D films, and to experience that is well worth the visit."

As part of its state-of-the-art technology, the Cannery Row 3D IMAX also features 12,000 watts of digital surround sound.

During the daytime, he said, the theater will show "edutainment" films that follow typical IMAX themes such as nature - especially those related to aquatic life and ocean sustainability, thanks to the aquarium's proximity. More mainstream Hollywood movies and concerts will be featured in the evenings.

"When we're able to see faces of the people being entertained, I think that's when we'll feel the best," Weinert said. "IMAX is about the 'WOW!' factor when people see the films and get that experience. That'll be the case, I think, with people coming into our building."

HI Guys

For those that are taking an active interest in what is happening to the company, you will be aware that a channel of communication was opened up between the executive board and smaller shareholders some weeks ago. A meeting of smaller shareholders was subsequently held on Sunday 13th April. The meeting was well attended. Prior to that meeting a letter was received from solicitors representing Mr Peter Redmond. I have written authority from those solicitors to pass the contents of that correspondence directly onto all shareholders that attended that meeting, along with our response.

After consulting with our own representatives I am looking to make that correspondence available to all interested shareholders. I am however advised that rather than post the correspondence directly onto any of the bulletin boards a copy can be made available to shareholders that have declared themselves as interested parties and have previously e. mailed notification of that interest to Merlotpub@aol.com

If you send a simple e.mail and request details I will ensure the information is forwarded to you.

Regards

City Tourist
