04/11/2003 12:12 | "Moles do not directly destroy plantings by chewing, but can ruin a lawn's looks and damage young plant roots with their tunneling in search of grubs. A concoction of 3 ounces castor oil and 4 tablespoons dishwashing liquid mixed in a blender with 1 cup of warm water yields about 12 ounces of concentrate. When ready to treat the mole tunnels, mix 2 tablespoons in a gallon of warm water. Spray the affected area or locate a tunnel, make a hole with a stick, and pour in about a cup of the diluted mixture. In a large yard this method is quicker and easier than spraying." regards widemouthbuddist | widemouthfrog | |
04/11/2003 12:01 | As you may remember,I had a fox problem a few months back. That appears to have been solved,as I don't see them anymore or see evidence of their presence. My new problem is moles. My garden looks like the surface of the moon, with lots of piles of earth appearing on a daily basis. Whilst I have no desire to play croquet on my lawn,I would like to see the occasional patch of green. We are surrounded by woods and fields,so why can't the little blighters go there to dig there mounds. I like moles...who could ever forget the 'I am a mole and I live in a hole' song ? But I am a mole nimby. How can I get rid of the little fekkers ? | sugarbeast |
