davinausa1,

I totally agree, easy to start a blog when the markets are heading northwards, once a following is built, the predictions on small illiquid stocks can become self fulfilling prophecies for a while, inmtil as you rightly say, the market turns.

His latest write up on NTOG has to be read to be believed!

He seems to think he can fulfil the role of a financial analyst, oh dear!

When he tries to fill in the bits between "buy now the price is rising" and "£1 by Xmas", it would appear he has nothing lucid to offer!

Don't give up the day job BMD if that's the best you can do!

he is just like you and me posting on a BB it just so happens he has a blogg, anyone following him buying on his tips must be nuts! Thats not saying the companies he is ramping will not take off, most of what he sais is in the public domain, as the above poster stated he is sensationalizing them. I think now the markets turned he will disapear as big gains will be harder to get as people will seek to make quick gains and get whatever profit they can.

Fantastic posts newswseller and Hearrts. Well done to both of you.

Let's continue to run the numbers...

I would like to see BMD respond to the posts on this thread.

Once we have enough evidence, I shall send him the link.

Bookie is correct, Brokerdan is pure P&D merchant however.
His blog is sensational journalism, given that he states hes a broker his write ups are very ' layman'
Any writes up on the city or stockbroking are copy and pastes, in fact one user on the blog pulled him up on this where Dan wrote a piece that looked like it was his work.
Another poster has pulled him up that he does not archive all his posts. Some of the ' less succesful' tips were deleted. Dan said this was a computer error!
His main tips are ones that have been popular on the bbs for a number of months so you get no better insight than you would reading ADVFN, iii or LSE and certainly dont get the quality.
Where he has gone out on a limb with less known stocks such as Triple Plate, Leni and San Leon they have all failed.
Again you have to question his broker title when you see some of the price targets he gives, comes across as more a carried away PI than proffesional.
I think now he picks stocks that are popular anyway, this helps the pump.
Another trick he uses is that he states he does not tip, just gives info. So when a stock fails he says he did not tip, however if one wins he then changes his tune and rants how he told you to buy.
I find him comical, if investors go in on the pump, then thats upto them, if they did not follow BMD it would be another tipster or PI.
For info he used to post on ADVFN as Intelligenceleak, again pretending to have insight on the market.

Andy - thank you - I have had a good read all about him! Been to his website too - bet he was a precocious little brat!! Doubtlessly he has a following and does very nicely out of it - his website is all disclaimers of course.

Wish I had thought of it and made $500,000 by the time I was 16 but sad to say there was no internet then and even a calculator was costly at that time....

BMD is a pump and dump merchant in the Jonathan Lebed mould

Compare the post in the following article with a Brokermandan post; giveaways are excessive exclamation marks, capital letters and stratospheric price targets

This - from the last page, says it all;
Jonathan said "West Coast Video was trading at like 30 cents when we got in."
Keith looked up. "When you got in" he said. "Everyone else got in at 65 cents; then it collapsed. Most of the people lost money on that one."
"Hmmm" Jonathan said, with real satisfaction. "That's when I got out."

ntd909,

You have hit the nail on the head, in that a tipster's reommendations, when analysed, are taken from the initial tip through to sale, and this is rarely achievable for the average person.

Clearly a lot of people will see the tip after the spike, and risk buying at the top, rather than the bottom.

I think the law should be changed so that tipsters MUST use the BID - OFFER spread (that was achievable!) by people for their buying the tipped stock, rather than an unachievable mid price, which grossly exaggerates the possible gains.

Great post BMD. If you read through the thread archive you'll see many of your recommendations have been completely wrong too.

Your defence relies on people investing in your tips from day 1. If an investor were just to discover your site and follow your recommendations, people would be broke. We've done the analysis and it appears that nearly all your recommendations of late are stinkers!

Prove us wrong!

SOU has been hit by the decline in the Market due to the middle east. Look at GKP for example!

OEX is trading down 30% on the back of your most recent recommendation!

How dare you tell anyone to wind their necks in mate. Have you done the numbers on your success rate of late!?

Thanks for the advice Andy.

MTA, OEX and RRL are great examples where he says the company is about to release positive news and then nothing transpires...! The spike is then created and BMD is gone!

Coincidence?

A quick update on BMD's tips:

CLF; his takeover rumour never materialised. CLF shares are now trading down 5% from their peak. Only the rising gold price has prevented them from falling further"

MATRA Petroleum; no news is good news!? It's almost 2 weeks since his buy recommendation. They spiked but have retraced over the last week and are now trading down over 25%! See his recommendation below.

FEBRUARY 11, 2011
Matra. Buy and Hold!

There's no point flooding the Blog with emails.

I have already stated that Matra are a buy (I don't do that lightly). In my opinion 'they should double on news next week! Production is on test.'

Now you can do one or two things either sell or hold for the news!
----------------------------------------------------------

Range Resources; he issued news when volume was increasing to create a bigger spike. No news ever since... they're now trading a lot lower too.

BMD says he's in New York this week. Do we think he's regrouping!?

I think we have conclusive proof that he uses his followers to create spikes. His advice has been proven to be pretty poor. See some of the posts on this thread for more details!

Prove us all wrong BMD! PI's would be happy to have a real champion.

XEL - as pointed out on the thread the Bin Man has been well and truly exposed as a chancer which has been my underlying feeling all along.

He said last week testing was well underway when we have now bwwn told it hasn't even started!

LOL

2 December

'The flow testing at the Bentley field is well underway and has been for the last few days so says our contacts. The news is expected to be very positive no problems have been encountered other than the usual rough seas. Knutsen tankers are known to be in this area probably off-loading the flow-test oil. Commercial rates of BOPD are being hit!.......

Flow testing means only one thing and that is that news is about to break!'
