15/11/2010 11:11 | Most of the smart money is riding commods etc not in the banking sctor which has been going nowhere for months. HER .65p to 2p in a few months PGM 1.20 to 4.5p in a few months to name a few examples. Next JSJS only 1.3p to but will soon be above 3p | ny boy
14/11/2010 21:12 | Capricious - It's making more sense now. The first time it didn't make sense because the stop was set on one side, before the second trade opened. | kenbachelor
14/11/2010 20:57 | Haha, well I can't really take credit for that, as I'm now looking at the form and thinking I understood it before, but now the figures have changed. So it's not the square root of the limit, multiplied by 2 + limit, with the limit being the variance? The limit has a percentage probability to be hit (calculated using previous days price action) and adding the result above adds 2 standard deviations? In all honesty I haven't got any ideas what you're actually meant to use as the variance in this case (PP's), but when Ken first mentioned it, it sounded great ;) | capricious
14/11/2010 18:47 | Capricious - I don't know why you are thanking me, it's me who should be thanking you because I hadn't noticed an error in my calcs until I tried to put them into a trade ticket. Smurfy - It doesn't happen very often. Only once so far this year, but it can only help and when it does of course it lowers the loss on the following trades until one closes successfully. | kenbachelor
14/11/2010 18:03 | Hi Ken, Have you backtested this to see if the profits improve as a results of using stops? KenBachelor - 14 Nov'10 - 13:52 - 63646 of 63654 In case you haven't read today's header update, I've added a Stop Loss to the trades form by adding 2 standard deviations to each trade's limit and I must acknowledge Miata's help with this addition to Somnus. | smurfy2001
14/11/2010 16:15 | Thanks Ken | capricious
14/11/2010 16:08 | Cap - I was going to add them when I fill in the order to open tickets. I'll change the sample tickets as soon as I can, but I'm busy at the moment. | kenbachelor
14/11/2010 16:04 | To Ken and Co Somnus aficionados, If I've read the header correctly, Ken will continue to place the trades as he has done up to this point, i.e without hard stops. For those who want stops this is now added to the form. My question is this :- is the suggestion that the stops are placed as you would normally when using stops, on every unopened trade each day, or only added intraday on the days when both trades are triggered. | capricious

13/11/2010 09:24 | I love these "expert" share advisers, like Brtish Bulls above. They waste hours telling what to do for the IF in the "Buy-IF". They could just do the maths they tell us the results, and commit themselves. As someone said, Barclays share price will definitley go up or down or even stay the same. | robertfaulkner
