Smurphy - You mentioned the Barclay Eagle. There used to be one in the Birmingham, Colmore Row branch. I carved it about 50 years ago.

Are there any benefits to a falling pound?

A weak pound can prove helpful in a number of ways, by making it cheaper for foreign companies to buy UK goods and boosting exports as a result.

It can also increase foreign investment in the UK, for example in property and in shares.

The FTSE 100 Index on London's stock market usually rises when the pound falls as it is dominated by internationally-focused firms, which trade largely in US dollars.

A falling pound can also increase tourism to the UK, with overseas travellers looking to make the most of a better exchange rate.

This offers a boost to retailers and other sectors, such as restaurants and leisure attractions.

FED rate cuts are going to whack the UK Banks

It is now happening and the cuts will be this week , another before xmas and one next year circa june/july.

Boris needs to get rid of Carney pronto and get a guy in that knows his stuff.

Carney got it wrong with his early rate cuts

We need a BOE Governor that believes in Brexit

We also need the GBP now supporting with a rate rise NOT a rate cut ... which is most likely what Carney will do , because he is a May/Hammong remainer stooge

It's not as though a larger PPI provision should come as a shock - yet it will and retail punters will panic sell...time to buy.

Can any one say why the Eu gets welsh lamb a lot less to buy than we can in the U.K. I see sheep all over the fields by my homes but the cost of a leg of lamb is twice that of in France Why do the welsh charge U.K. public more for their lamb
