27/9/2017 11:58 | I transferred a marketmaster account after the new fee regime was announced. It is a largely passive buy and hold portfolio (with Barclays about 20 years) which was about to attract significant new fees with no discernible benefit. The whole transfer process took 10 weeks. Two days before the transfer was complete an email from Barclays claimed, "We have contacted your new provider to arrange the transfer of your assets but have not yet had a response." Fortunately that was not the case. No doubt just a standard email to the many in the process of jumping ship. | scotches

How much patience and understanding should a Barclays client be expected to show? ---------- How much patience and understanding have Barclays shown to struggling clients who needed some 'extra time' ?. | tenapen

26/9/2017 15:15 | Close of business this coming Friday marks the end of Q3 and the completion of the first quarter of CEO's new Barclays. We shall know if the new Barclays has delivered the goods at the end of October - should it be just broken promises then it's time to split the bank, create value through mergers and appoint new management teamswho can deliver. Like Mr Barnier, at the EU, keeps on saying to HMG, " the clock is ticking." That same clock is ticking down on the Board at Barclays deliver or go. No more hefty provisions, especially after 10 yrs - only earnings and dividend growth should be accepted by shareholders - no more can-kicking of legacy issues. from over the road | portside1

25/9/2017 13:32 | Posted off the forms to transfer out of BARC today, lets see how long it takes them to do it. They sent me a long screed following my complaint to them which basically said nothing. Offered me £200 for my 'inconvenience'. I will take that in compensation for the blood pressure rise in dealing with them. So between me and wife thats four investment accounts (with quite a wadge in them)and two premier bank accounts in process of being closed. You would think they would be bothered - which they are not! | ayl30 |
