27/11/2017 12:10 | £452m is amazing - that's 131.8% growth in run-rate EUS year-on-year, with stable operating costs that do not rise with EUS. That is why people call this company 'operationally geared'!! Also wondering if we'll see further boost to profits from analytics fees (Bango Boost). That stuff increases EUS anyway, but presumably clients pay for access to the data too. | simonsaid1
27/11/2017 12:05 | New IC article advises a buy. Also contains this: "analyst forecasts suggest Bango is on course to generate cash profit of £3m on a total EUS of £591m in 2018" "The exit run-rate of end-user spend (EUS) processed through Bango’s payment platform is set to hit £452m by the end of December, up from £195m at the start of the year, growth that has now turned Bango profitable on a monthly basis, according to Mr Anderson." | glawsiain
27/11/2017 12:04 | Simon Thompson column just came out and rates Bango a 'Buy' again! | simonsaid1
27/11/2017 11:15 | Thanks Spawny, great to see that! Between this new interview, and a new article coming from Simon Thompson this week on the IC, this should be a great week for Bango's share price | simonsaid1

26/11/2017 14:03 | What's great is what payment method will every body in Japan use to buy their Alexa and Echo never mind the EUS they will generate | lentjes
26/11/2017 06:25 | Just a market note: Here in the Far East everything, just everything, is done on a mobile phone (albeit some tablets are around in the Beijing Metro). Personally, I am unable to work with wifi to pc in hotels or elsewhere since there appears to be a blocking/censorship process in operation or the wifi may be is just carp. 4G is ubiquitous so, coupled with good speed, i do everything on the mobile... even as far into the countryside as 1,000's kilometers from the main cities (Well, a small city is about 1.5m to 2m people anyway!). WeChat is the messenger of most use here (part of Tencent 0700:HK) and it has a pay system incorporated in the App. Alipay (from Alibaba) is the other mobile pay system. Bikes can be paid for through WeChat on your phone, unlocked through inputting the bike's number into the app and receiving a 4 digit code on the mobile (like mobile banking). Carrier payments are not prevalent here in China as far as I've seen but these markets can move very fast and penetration of credit/debit cards is not that great. | sogoesit
24/11/2017 15:39 | Amazon say shopping through its app over thanksgiving up 50% year on year. Such bullish news for bango. | smallcapinvestor1
24/11/2017 15:31 | BANGO Friday lol | lentjes
24/11/2017 14:08 | Yes I agree Simon. There are still a surprising number of people I know here who do not even do internet banking or shopping because of safety concerns believe it or not! Understand main market is not countries like ours but I wouldn't be surprised to see a paradigm shift here in next few years in how goods are paid for by mobile. That would be potentially megabucks on top of the already huge developing countries market. | spawny100
24/11/2017 14:07 | Also, most banking is through mobile in the developing world. Amazingly, I saw yesterday that more people in the world have a phone than have a permanent place to live. My point is that if you can get into the phone/payment area, you open up huge opportunities that we are only starting to explore. | mad foetus
24/11/2017 14:02 | The main fuel for DCB growth is in countries with low credit card penetration, especially across Asia and Africa. Over here, it does interest me that young people are increasingly not taking out credit cards, perhaps due to rising student debt making them credit-averse. This is a potential avenue for DCB growth here. | simonsaid1
24/11/2017 13:50 | Motoring today😄ԅ | moormoney
24/11/2017 13:48 | Thanks mad foetus. Yes I do pretty much all my internet shopping (and that's quite a lot!) on my phone as opposed to PC now. Admittedly none is dcb but it is surely heading that way? | spawny100
24/11/2017 13:32 | I posted this on the TAP thread, but it applies just as much here. from the Guardian: "Despite the entertaining lack of a rush on Oxford Street at 7am, Currys PC World says its having its busiest Black Friday ever - on the Internet. Online traffic via mobile devices is up 14% on last year, apparently, with TV and gaming consoles particularly popular." Everything is happening on phones and tablets, and you can bet the rest of the world is on this trend. | mad foetus
24/11/2017 11:03 | Latest Investor's Chronicle podcast is out, featuring Simon Thompson discussing Bango. It's brief but covers some of the latest news, including the Nigeria 9Mobile deal and the Boku IPO, and more importantly earmarks next week for a new writeup. | simonsaid1
24/11/2017 10:46 | I don't know the answer egrid, but bear in mind the mobile wallet is part of the 9Mobile phone carrier's offering 9Pay, it is definitely linked to a mobile bill. More research needed, will try to figure it out. Definitely good hearing how adaptable the platform is. Also evidenced in the speed at which they're able to take on new integrations without a huge amount of staff. | simonsaid1
24/11/2017 10:30 | Any thoughts on what Ray is saying at this point in the video: Where he talks about the "mobile wallet" and being different from carrier billing... "Plugging into a wallet, rather than using conventional carrier billing is a bit of a revolution and the Bango platform, the technology we've got, was ready for that" Does this mean that Bango has expanded beyond simple DCB? How does the wallet - which I think is pre-loaded with cash, provide Bango with an income - who pays the fee? | egrid1
24/11/2017 09:47 | ST analyses BGO on this weeks IC podcast - states that he is writing a piece in next weeks column. | stentorian

But he prefers them to make the announcements so wont say anything until then. Then there is India. He was in India as part of his 2 week trip. South Africa as well by the way.
