08/1/2015 19:18 | .. other site (LSE) could be wrong ... I don't especially care .. as far as I'm concerned .. I've bailed. | keith95

08/1/2015 18:10 | I have copies of the contracts. That is all people need if they are not happy with the cancelled trades - doesn't matter if it was 1 share or 5000 shares .... Santander have screwed up here .. and so has Spanish regulator and the LSE IMO. A contract is a contract and should be honoured. Suggest anyone not happy with the cancelling of trades writes to/e-mails their provider immediately expressing their displeasure - to generate a paper trail. | keith95

08/1/2015 17:04 | Lucky escape - was looking to buy .... Santander asks investors for €7.5bn in share sale Shares in eurozone's largest bank suspended on news of fundraising to raise capital Banco Santander has announced plans to raise up to €7.5bn (£5.9bn) from shareholders to boost its capital in an unexpected move that sees Ana Botín, its new chairman, put her stamp on the eurozone’s biggest bank. The Spanish lender had trading in its shares suspended on Thursday as it announced plans to raise the money in an overnight share sale. Emilio Botin, who led Santander for more than a quarter of a century before his death last year meant his daughter Ana take the helm, had been reluctant raising new capital despite occasional shareholder pressure. Ms Botin, who was the head of Santander’s UK arm for four years until becoming the Spanish parent’s executive chairman last year, has been quick to establish herself, for example by replacing the bank’s chief executive with its finance director. Santander is seen as potentially the least-well capitalised of the biggest eurozone banks, despite easily passing European stress tests in October. The tests, which modelled a new recession and a slump in house prices, have had their credibility questioned after several banks seen as being at risk passed, and a further exercise this year is expected to be tougher. Questions over the bank’s financial buffers have led to suggestions that it is under pressure to float its UK unit, something that remains a medium-term priority. Santander said the share placing would be enough to boost its capital position by almost 10pc. Meanwhile, speculation that it would enable the bank to make an acquisition saw shares in Monte dei Paschi, the deeply-troubled Italian lender, rise by more than 12pc. | smurfy2001

06/1/2015 18:18 | Pricing of the scrip is over the next few days (5, 6, 7, 8 & 9 Jan). With the fall in share price we will receive more shares. Of course we will have to see an increase in share price to benefit which is looking unlikely given the Greece situation - but still a great value play for the long term. | dendria
02/12/2014 15:24 | 600p for Xmas surely. | its the oxman

04/11/2014 10:31 | Results look pleasing enough to me. Not sure why the shares are struggling around the 550p mark though. Be interesting to see how forecasts have moved and hoping to see us back above 600p by year end. | its the oxman |
