Expecting results soon, perhaps the recent lift in price is an indication they are going to be okay

Down 4% @ 238p today!!! Looks as thought these are headed down to test the 220p support level again. Surprised. Happily not holding; but getting seriously tempted.

It's an ill wind (and rain) that blows nobody any good. You would think BBY might be able to capitalise on some of the rebuilding work after the flood devastation. Some older links below. hTTp://www.fyldecoastalprogramme.co.uk/index.php/project-updates "Over the next three years, Balfour Beatty will be installing 325,000 tonnes of rock onto the beach. Sheet steel piling works are now taking place at Anchorsholme forming the bottom of the new defences there and they will be capped with a concrete beam providing further defences. The infrastructure company has extensive experience in delivering coastal defence schemes including locally the recent £75 million Blackpool Central Area Coast Protection Scheme and the £19 million Cleveleys Coastal Defence & Improvements Phases 2, 3 & 4. Nationally, Balfour Beatty has delivered the £5 million River Mersey Flood Defence Scheme and the £2.7 million Humber Coastal Defence scheme." hTTp://www.cityam.com/211182/balfour-beatty-250m-flood-defences-deal "Infrastructure firm Balfour Beatty has been signed up to help strengthen London’s flood defences as part of the 10-year Thames Estuary asset management programme." hTTp://www.balfourbeatty.com/news/balfour-beatty-appointed-as-civil-contractor-to-300-million-thames-estuary-asset-management-programme/?year=all&parentId=1212

I sold my holding today at the year high. I think BBY is a good medium/long but there are better opportunities in the market currently. I may return on any retrace to a reasonable buying level.

BBY should be the major beneficiary of Osborne’s infrastructure boost. Chart shows a clear Reverse Head & Shoulders – Target 350p! http://citywire.co.uk/money/chancellor-pools-pension-funds-to-get-britain-building/a846476?re=36372&ea=73866&utm_source=BulkEmail_Money_Daily_Summary&utm_medium=BulkEmail_Money_Daily_Summary&utm_campaign=BulkEmail_Money_Daily_Summary free stock charts from uk.advfn.com

Surprised that this serial disappointer has shown such resilience to the market turbulence. Is it really poised to finally come good?

7th profit warning this month in 2 1/2 years. At least they have admitted to underbidding. Maybe c/e Quinn will get a grip. I would await developments before buying.

The on-going, in-depth review of Group businesses has continued to identify legacy issues in the UK, US and Middle East which will result in an additional shortfall to 2015 pre-tax profit of £120 million to £150 million. The UK accounts for approximately two-thirds of this amount.

Sunday Times 7-6-15 A CHINESE construction giant is exploring a £2bn takeover approach for Balfour Beatty, the FTSE 250 company that helped to build the Channel tunnel. China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), a subsidiary of the state-backed China Railway Construction Corporation, is understood to have sounded out industry figures about the feasibility of bidding for Britain’s biggest contractor. Balfour Beatty employs 36,000 people and has interests spanning transport, energy and housing.

AGM TRADING UPDATE Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, is holding its Annual General Meeting at 11am today. The Group is focused on rolling out its Build to Last transformation programme. Actions are being taken to strengthen operational processes and to improve efficiency across the organisation to achieve the initial financial targets of £200 million cash in and £100 million cost out over the first 24 months. At the same time, the leadership team continues to review the Group's businesses and manage the legacy problem construction projects through to completion. Leo Quinn, Balfour Beatty Group Chief Executive said: "We are making progress as we work to deliver the initial phase of the Build to Last transformation programme, against a backdrop of major short-term challenges. The internal focus on cash is vital to maintain a strong balance sheet through self-help. At the same time, we see continued evidence that we retain the support, trust and confidence of our customers in Balfour Beatty's expertise. I continue to believe all our operations should achieve industry-standard performance against what appears to be a beneficial market environment." Philip Harrison, as previously announced, will be joining the Group as Chief Financial Officer. The Group today confirms that he will take up his position and join the Board on 1 June, 2015. ENDS
