Hands up anyone who thinks they've gradually become emotionally attached to BPC over the last 11 years??Like an old girlfriend who continually lied and cheated on you but you just couldn't let go :)

I believe its the political/environmental issues that make it hard to get a farm in partner. I think the first signs of BPC not looking to drill (just keep raising money on the back of proposed drilling for a new venture somewhere else) was the announcement that they are looking at other ventures............. perhaps raise enough funds on the back of Bahamas drilling to buy into another license area somewhere else in the world. Maybe they can farm into 88E on their next Alaska drilling, as 88E will be raising funds again soon for sure. This line : https://www.investegate.co.uk/bahamas-petroleum-co--bpc-/rns/perseverance--1-well-update/202003250700054665H/ ..........farm-in discussions remain on foot, and the current crisis is presenting a number of interesting alternative opportunities for us............ Interesting alternative opportunities........... the language does not say NEW opportunities, but ALTERNATE. An ALTERNATE means you may not do the original plan................eg you may not drill Bahamas but might do something completely different......... ??????????

- good comparison88E - despite not having a particularly good result from the project to date, in a relatively short space of time they got a partner, raised the funds, despite previous failures.. got it drilled .. in Alaska of all places!!It does make you wonder about the technicals and or potential political/environment issues for BPC- can't get a partner and raise funds easily for a drill in what should be a prime location. Purely a trading stock now this one IMO

Rather a brutal summary there Bigsi, but of course, fully correct. Even perennial failures like 88E manage to drill wells, raise money, get farm in partners. Raising money is easy, just drop the price and raise. The risk here now, imo, is that some shady background deal will be done and the license will expire and then an agreed new party will take over the license area and raise funds and drill it. Meanwhile BPC with cash as no drilling and no license area picks up a new license area in Nigeria and renames to NPC........... You can just see it happening followed by hordes of PI's all screaming that Nigeria is the place to be and Bahamas was always no good, thats why they never got a farm in partner.......... Comedy gold in the making perhaps ??????? :)
