Defense company BAE Systems PLC (BA.LN) said Friday that the U.K. government has signed a memorandum of intent with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia aiming to finalize discussions for the purchase of 48 Typhoon aircrafts.
The U.K. company said that this is a positive step toward agreeing a contract.
Shares at 1517 GMT were up 15.20 pence, or 2.6%, at 604.20 pence.
