UK would be 'outgunned' in Russia conflict - think-tank

British ground forces would be "comprehensively outgunned" in a conflict with Russia in Eastern Europe, according to a defence think-tank.
Research by the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi) found that the Army, as well as Nato allies, has a "critical shortage" of artillery and ammunition.
It concluded that it could not maintain a credible defence position.

MBDA Mistral 3 missile goes through testing

“The Mistral 3 missile, currently in service with the French forces, is an air defence missile equipped with an infrared imaging seeker and advanced image processing capabilities. This allows it to engage low thermal signature targets such as: UAVs, turbojet-powered missiles and fast craft at long range, while offering excellent resistance to countermeasures. Representatives of 15 foreign delegations present for the firing also took part in workshops designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the MISTRAL system in an anti-drone role.”

It is hard to imagine that a Labour or Lib/Lab win would be good for the Defence industry . Corbyn would probably alienate so many NATO customers that they would stop buying. Mind you , he would want to do a roaring trade with Gadaffi (or his successors).

There would be many variables of-course, but a material strengthening of GBP would likely add downward pressure on the share price with lower GBP from US profit consolidation.

On the flip side. A stonking Tory majority could see these higher.Though, the pound would rally so US dollar stocks might come under pressure.Think i'll sit on my hands and hope for the best lol.
