A closer look at the Littoral Strike Ship concept

In February 2019, the then Defence Minister, Gavin Williamson, announced the plan to rapidly procure vessels around which two ‘Littoral Strike Groups’ would be formed. Here we look further at the Future Littoral Strike Ship (FLSS) concept and at the design developed by Prevail Partners as one of the potential candidates to meet this requirement.

More than one way to skin a rabbit, Rubi.

The US has belatedly come to the realisation that China under Xi represents a major threat to world peace - unless the RoW just rolls over onto its back and lets China fugg them rigid.

They've been buying assets everywhere. The other day there was a BBC documentary on China (still running) part of which showed their investment in a major new - unwanted and empty - airport in Sri Lanka, and a major new - empty - port in Sri Lanks, which was ideal for use as a Chinese base.

Sri Lanka now owes China a small fortune in high interest payments on the debt, so much so that China has "helped them out" by taking a 100 year lease on the port; so it now belongs to China for their use, in effect.

Xi is power hungry. He talks of ridding China of corruption but many of those convicted of corruption were seen as a threat to his supremacy.

The upshot is that China needs its wings clipped, and Trump is engaged in just that, while other nations, such as Germany, try to frustrate the process!

Let's hope that the efforts to engage SE Asian nations works.

BA. and BAB looks like being sound investments for the foreseeable future.

Iwas only talking to someone about our time with Jag's at Coltishall the other day. We were both wondering how long the Indians were going to keep them going.....

Indian Air Force halts Jaguar engine upgrades over cost

The Indian Air Force is set to shelve its plan for an engine upgrade of the Jaguar jet due to the high cost involved, reports local media.

Instead, it could go in for additional Sukhoi Su-30 MKIs to replace the aircraft that will be grounded.

I do like the look of this share price graph , especially in the context of the wider market. Glad one of my holdings is going up! Perhaps not explosively though.

How many ships are the Clyde shipyards expecting to build?

There’s a lot of misunderstanding and myth circulating about how many ships the shipyards on the Clyde are expecting to build, but what’s the truth?

The chopping and changing when it comes to the requirements of the Royal Navy in terms of ship classes, numbers and even the building of those ships has caused a great deal of misunderstanding and confusion, not least when discussing Scottish politics.
