20/6/2019 12:05 | Cmackay "Who would have thought that Germany would pose a threat to stability across Europe. Again" Always inevitable Third time lucky they'll be thinking. Well they've overrun Europe economically after all. UK last bastion, again, hence Germany is adamant UK must not get a good deal(along with their lapdog France) Worrying times I have to say. Currency War Trade War War War is next .... | crossing_the_rubicon
20/6/2019 10:59 | Agreed regarding Germany and Pan EU defence projects. Who would have thought that Germany would pose a threat to stability across Europe. Again. | cmackay
20/6/2019 10:57 | I see on the other thread that a court case has gone ahead against the UK government regarding saudi arms sales. That won't help. Hopefully Boris will still be in the running after lunch, he seems to be doing well for us. | cmackay
20/6/2019 10:55 | Judges said licences should be reviewed but would not be immediately suspended. So now waiting for Government to do a review.... | ribblewader
20/6/2019 10:47 | UK Government challenged in courts over Saudi arms sales: | f15jcm
20/6/2019 10:34 | Nice recovery. F35 unit costs reducing to less than forecast. Possible that Turkey will loose at least part of its F35 manufacturing. All adding up for share price surge. | ribblewader
20/6/2019 10:06 | European side Germany is a major concern restricting weapons sales to Saudi Arabia for example. This is why I am so anti Pan EU defence projects. US / BAE merger of some sort often mooted. Yet to see any evidence of such. BAe seems busy with bolt on mergers with likes of Rheinmetal rather than a meega merger. F35 subject to a multitude of problems - the B and C variant, not the A apparently. Given its cost, worrisome. And as you say Chinese stealth detector - is it fact or bluster! World is very unstable at moment. Currency Wars Trade Wars We ALL know what comes next. | crossing_the_rubicon
20/6/2019 08:22 | Lockheed Martin is attempting to upgrade the F-35 Lightning II stealth fighter, while dealing with lingering as well as new supply chain and reliability issues. | ribblewader
19/6/2019 18:18 | Shyfox, no change since the last time you asked the question.... RibbleWader 9 Apr '19 - 15:07 - 1841 of 1992 Edit 0 0 0 Shyfox have you looked at post 1838? RibbleWader 9 Apr '19 - 16:23 - 1842 of 1992 Edit 0 0 0 Or here perhaps.......... SABRE rocket engine passes significant precooler milestone Shyfox 9 Apr '19 - 16:45 - 1843 of 1992 0 0 0 Yes Ribblewater I’ve seen the post/link that you put up , its my first day on ADVFN so new at this , just thought there would of bean a bit more chat on here , with (R/E)reaction Engines that you cant buy shares in as far as I know , so I’ve brought shares in BAE which owns a large part of reaction and came on here looking to see who other might be interested in R/E | ribblewader
19/6/2019 17:38 | Anyone know anything about reaction engines as I did read that there hoping to do there first flight test end 2019, with RR making the engine and bae the plane/space ship will be a big jump in space and flight due to the new type of engine | shyfox
19/6/2019 17:23 | Yes, the combination of Saudi friction and EU fascist dictatorship threat does leave BAE rather exposed to risk. Throw in the F35 trouble and you have a fair amount of alarm bells ringing. I will add when I can on any weakness and let it grow over the coming decades. | cmackay
19/6/2019 16:48 | US officials threaten retribution for European Union’s restrictions on defense fund The top Pentagon official attending the Paris Air Show this week made clear she would use the venue to make a declarative statement about a subset of European arms funding: Either give the United States the ability to compete for work, or risk retaliation. | ribblewader
19/6/2019 11:12 | Worrying development "China Unveils New Radar System To Detect US Stealth Jets" China, the rising power, has designed a new radar system that can detect American stealth warplanes and is also immune to their "radar killer" missiles, its creator told Naval and Merchant Ships magazine, first published by Global Times. | crossing_the_rubicon

17/6/2019 10:23 | I'd expect it to be considerable.. FT article today " Manufacturers upbeat on outlook for defence spending Contractors express optimism about global market on eve of Paris Air Show" Lockheed Martin last week agreed a $34bn handshake deal with the Pentagon for 478 new F-35 jets at a lower cost per aircraft. The cost will be roughly $81m per plane for the first lot of jets included in the deal and could be less than $80m for planes produced afterwards. | crossing_the_rubicon |
