I generally consider fool as a tabloid, but they make a compelling case for BAE over RR.

Agreed Dafrog.

Just wondering when BAE are going to get some sizeable contracts - especially US side which is ramping up defence spending...

Any increase in our ammunition production is good news. The old Royal Ordnance Factories organisation ensured that we had our own capabilities.

GE to support UK’s Type 45 PIP

GE’s Marine Solutions has been selected by BAE Systems to provide a number of marine electrical solutions to support the upgrade of power generation systems on Royal Navy Type 45 destroyers, the company announced on 11 June.

BAE Systems Land UK is investing around £10 million in its ammunition production capability with the decision to build a new production line for 12.7mm ammunition at the Radway Green small arms ammunition facility, adding up to 10 million rounds a year.

new contract announcements, perhaps? or as the red tops would have you believe that the UK's F35s are in danger of vandalism due to a 5 foot fence being the only security, maybe a replacement order? ;)

I know our rating is still moderate compared to peers but what's gonna be the catalyst for breakout? We already know that 18 numbers will be similar to 17. Maybe some good news from the gulf..

I'm in a similar situation RW, I have a fairly small holding that I have recently taken, in fact I have just had my first dividend reinvestment completed. Its in an ISA so for me it is something to let build up over a few decades and not really worry about the sp/yield too much.

IP issue threatens Rolls-Royce deal

Should the two sides fail to reach an agreement, Rolls-Royce could be forced to pull out of the programme. This could call into question the role of BAE Systems, which last year signed a £100m contract with Turkish Aerospace Industries to help design the jet. About 200 BAE engineers are working with TAI in the UK and Turkey.

Wad, agree with you BUT as I now hold them all in my SIPP the income from these (and others) is quite welcome. Also the eternal question then remains, where else to put the money, mainly for income but growth is always welcome.
