Jan. 20 (UPI) -- BAE Systems has received a $51 million contract to perform depot maintenance for the U.S. Navy's Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt.





BAE Systems won a $177.8 million modification contract for the construction and commissioning of a new nitrocellulose facility at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. The contract was awarded by the Army Contracting Command, Warren, MI.

Work is scheduled to be completed by Dec 31, 2018. The company will execute the work in Radford, VA.

BAE Systems shares slip after Trump demands 10pc cost savings in F-35 fighter jets


BAE Systems must find huge savings in producing parts for the F-35 stealth fighter on the orders of Donald Trump, the defence company’s chairman has admitted.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Sir Roger Carr said the US president elect wanted to see the cost of the controversial programme slashed by at least 10pc - news that knocked BAE’s share price.

No I was trying to be too greedy didn't hit by 581 limit.
However time to sell some older holdings I reckon. Looks a bit toppy and selling at an all time FTSE high ( or thereabouts) can't be a terrible decision ....can it? 617.6 for first lot.

Can't profess to understand most conclusions drawn from various charts,as there always seems to be contradictory information within an overall trend line, in my opinion that is.
The objectivity within some of the conclusions is often suspect or shall we say a little more optimistic/pessimistic than a particular chart would imply.
That said, I wonder what people make of the 4 distinct sharp upsurges since Nov 15 and does todays upsurge possibly represent the start of a 5th and how far could it go?
It is more the degree of the upsurge that triggers my interest, bearing in mind the 4 near vertical surges, realising my own subjective of course?
However, there has been a lot of +ve news and sizeable contracts awarded with little reaction in share price. has the market woken to this?
