03/3/2017 09:21 | Not liking the stock option grants today - for all its potential, Bacanora seems to be a company run for the benefit of its directors, not its shareholders. | bookwormrobert
01/3/2017 16:16 | FWIW - I have bought back in. | ifthecapfits
28/2/2017 13:34 | In respect of financing, this is the most important para from the Interims: The Company is fully financed with approximately $24 million in the bank and is therefore fully funded through to the completion of the Feasibility Study. In order to meet the Company's planned growth and development activities, the Company budgets to spend an aggregate of approximately $17 million over the next 12 months, with approximately $7 million on the Feasibility Study and related expenditures, and approximately $2 million on Pilot Plant related capital expenditures. | melody9999
28/2/2017 12:46 | Wireless charging isn't a game changer, its called an 'electrical transformer'. Phones, toothbrushes etc wireless charge, half of transformer inside the device the other in the charging pad. When the two are in close proximity then charging occurs. This is less energy efficient than plugging a charger lead directly to the device. | coxsmn
27/2/2017 18:31 | Your right, there are challengers to the Lithium-ion domination, however here's why I'm backing Lithium battery tech over Hydrogen. Firstly there are advances scheduled over the next 2 to 5 years which will effectively double the energy storage capability of a Lithium-ion battery. So a Lithium-ion battery powered car could either double it's effective range or halve the size of it's battery. However the killer development for me is the developments taking place in the wireless transfer of electricity. If you look at a company like Witricity for example, which Toyota is currently trialing you can see where things are headed. Wireless charging is a massive game changer for me which has enormous potential, and the Lithium-ion battery tech is the perfect energy storage companion. | timbob2000
25/2/2017 18:45 | Lot of excitement around lithium, however hydrogen could ultimately replace fossil fuels for powering cars. Manufacturers such as Toyota already have hydrogen cars and Royal Dutch Shell are opening their first hydrogen filling stations. Advantage is much greater energy density equivalent to petrol cars and hence similar range, fuel your car same as petrol no waiting to charge batteries, no expensive lithium batteries to replace when they wear out after a few years, clean. There are a number of new battery technologies currently being developed that could compete with or supercede lithium ion e.g. sodium-ion. I have been looking at lithium miners but don't hold shares here at the moment. What i have concluded is lithium isn't necessarily the sure bet it might first appear. Just a few points to consider. 23/2/2017 12:15 | Thanks simon, it is obvious that you have done more research than me on the company and I value your input on this thread and the sharing of information. | cyfalafwr
23/2/2017 10:57 | Sorry, that part wasn't specifically at you, there are people on some boards suggesting this move might be to cover up for problems/delays at Sonora. Conversely many are also reading the silence as a sign that offtake deals (BCN keep using plurals in public statements) are progressing and necessary secrecy is being employed. I'm not sure what BCN could do to accelerate any of this, but we can at least be assured this new project won't slow anything down from a technical standpoint. I just spotted this in the piece on Proactive Investor: 'Bacanora will outsource the exploration work to a German consulting group so that it doesn't distract the company's technical team in Hermosillo.' | simonsaid1
23/2/2017 10:35 | simon I did not imply that there were serious problems with Sonara .I just feel they could have accelerated the project in view of the rapid expansion in the EV ,power storage industry. Do we really know why the Tesla deal was cancelled ? Why did Kiran leave? The answers might not be in the public domain and this after all this is the AIM market. Perhaps I am a bit sceptical from previous experiences with other AIM companies, I am a long term investor in BCN and I think it will deliver, but when? | cyfalafwr
23/2/2017 10:12 | Also some people missed that this deal for Zinnwald included the option for BCN to buy the other 50% within 2 years, which I think is more than likely given the current owner (SolarWorld)'s apparent wish to sell up and move on rather than develop the resource itself. They're a solar panel firm, after all, not an expert mining company. | simonsaid1
23/2/2017 10:10 | Cyfalafwr, it would do you well to watch the video interview on Proactive Investor with Peter Secker. He makes clear that the whole idea of Zinnwald is that it is further behind Sonora and won't really be in the most intense part of the development process until Sonora is up and running. The additional manpower problem is not as severe as you might imagine if the two projects were at the same advanced stage as Sonoroa is simultaneously. It has also been pointed out on LSE that BCN would not have been able to finance this new deal if there were serious problems with Sonora. It's a positive sign. | simonsaid1
23/2/2017 10:07 | Bacanora are bang on target as to where they need to be with Mexico which is the best Lithium deposit by a country mile. The new addition is a significant foothold with a nice option to go to 100% at a fixed price. Bacanora currently are massively undervalued IMHO. | senttothegallows
23/2/2017 09:55 | simonsaid1 23 Feb '17 - 09:15 - 3395 of 3396 0 0 Bacanora aren't just speculatively buying a stake in Zinnwald, they're taking operational control, along with the enormous 50% stake. When Bacanora acquires a new concern (as they may well do again some time) their style is hands-on, practical and operational. I personally think that they have dragged their feet in Mexico. Now a lot of the manpower is going to get used up in the new project and from my understanding is a bit behind where EMH are at the present time. Is this why Kiran left the BCN board? | cyfalafwr
23/2/2017 09:30 | The more I look at the purchase of Zinnwald the more I like it. I'm only amazed that EMH did not buy it; it seems to me that their board have made a bad mistake, and they will pay for it later big time when the big boys come in and make takeover offers. | bookwormrobert
23/2/2017 09:15 | You're missing the actual detail of the acquisition if you think it's anything like REM's deals. Bacanora aren't just speculatively buying a stake in Zinnwald, they're taking operational control, along with the enormous 50% stake. When Bacanora acquires a new concern (as they may well do again some time) their style is hands-on, practical and operational. Don't confuse this with the hedging and speculating of REM which likely involves funding at least some projects that genuinely will never break ground. | simonsaid1
23/2/2017 08:43 | qackers 22 Feb '17 - 21:40 - 3393 of 3393 0 0 I didn't know they had an acquisition strategy. I was hoping for a shovel in the ground strategy Exactly my sentiments, we have all this with REM.Use the money to get the stuff from the ground in Mexico and sell it ! | cyfalafwr
22/2/2017 21:40 | From miningweekly article. “The project fits with both our corporate strategy to develop and operate integrated lithium projects to produce high-value lithium products, and also the commercial overlay which drives our acquisition strategy," chairperson Mark Hohnen said in a statement on Tuesday." I didn't know they had an acquisition strategy. I was hoping for a shovel in the ground strategy. However Mark Hohnen is a winner and did very well with Kalahari Uranium project so he gets my backing. | qackers

21/2/2017 10:05 | Kod seems to have hit support around 2.8p & is back above 3p, EMH down a bit due to profit taking. All holds for me right now - will look at prem for the old man dies with a peaceful succession! | runthejoules
21/2/2017 10:05 | For the life of me can't make sense of that post, cpap man. | simonsaid1
21/2/2017 10:00 | Various LONDON listed LITHIUM plays.... John201720 Feb '17 - 22:24 - 1276 of 1288 5 0 Mugabe took over the foreign diamond mines recently so what stops him taking over the Lithium deposits or the mining operations of prem? MUGABE or as they say in Yorkshire EBAGUM will be dead soon but then what for ZIM?!?!? The likes of EMH, BCN and even KOD are IMHO at this point in time much safer LITHIUM bets! | cpap man
21/2/2017 09:11 | "I would have preferred an announcement of an Asian off take agreement for Sonara" - with a fair wind I hope this to be the next material news that we get. | ifthecapfits
21/2/2017 09:03 | I would have preferred an announcement of an Asian off take agreement for Sonara.I have an exposure to European lithium through EMH but I suppose BCN has added another string to its bow and for now we can turn a blind eye to how all this is going to be financed . | steeplejack |
