Get it sold on to the right entity and bring in people who know this stuff.

So,the main engine of profits in this company is its Marine business. Its Devonport business was sold to the wrong company. We need to move on if the UK's deterrent programme is to survive. Let's bring in the intervention rights from the sale agreements and get motoring on the current SSBN refit.

No matter what happens at the interims the Chairman especially is way past his sell by date.

The refutation yesterday didn't contain anything that couldn't have been said initially a month ago apart perhaps for the MOD crony. The city is still expecting negatives on 21 Nov - credibility shot to hell.

Copied this from the header:-

"On the dip to £4, to me they rate attractive in valuation / growth potential terms.
An 18 PE for 2007 falling to a sub 16 PE for 2008 and a handy 2 % yield to boot."

BAB is currently on a fwd PER of 7 for a company that has grown its sales, profit and dividend consistently for the last 6 years at least.

Yes, got it, thanks SMCN.

Well, no smoke without fire, and all that. Let's hope that it concentrates minds in the Board.

I agree with the point made about shorters and activists having a place in highlighting negatives. Working on MOD contracts must be hel lish difficult - changes to requirements and so on. Then there's the work culture in these old shipyards.

That the Government is a bit concerned about their performance refitted one of the nuclear submarines- there's a link to the Morningstar website a couple of posts down that essentially has the whole FT story on it

Seems like it's much the same as Morningstar, then.

How many reports have there been like Boatmans and what proportion of them were correct in the past ? Not how many hit the headlines because they were right and therefore got the big coverage.

That's the only way of deciding whether they are warning signs or just the work of shorters that has a temporary effect on the share price

I think I understand this company. I'm not Boatman. I am annoyed that a management team in charge of a mid FTSE 250 company is failing to acknowledge the problems that it has. No more, no less. There are fundamental issues relating to strategy, board level competence, and profit taking on long term projects. Also, assumed profit rates on Government contracts.

It's very odd that Boatman haven't followed up at all

Yes but what you're missing is that a share price that has fallen because of monkey business from the likes of Boatman, is unfairly open to predators and activists. That should, rightly IMO, be countered.

Surprised that Director Mynerve missed that.
