Shows the benefit of not getting into home delivery, crazy idea for low margin high volume products like grocery it will be the final nail in M&S's coffin. I go into our local B&M about twice a month. A sort of down market Lidl without the continental specialities I go to Lidl for. Only things I buy are booze which is about £1 a bottle cheaper than elsewhere and branded grocery staples which are generally cheaper than elsewhere. One bonus was that I could by paint when all the DIY places were shut.

Store is never busy so never had any trouble getting in when other retailers made me queue in the rain. 99% of the stuff in the store was things I wouldn't buy but that's the same with most retail outlets.

I take it that the market has changed
it’s opinion of the role out of so many stores now that a “vaccine”; will level
the playing field

Yes I saw that at the end of sept but see nothing on recent unusual moves

Perhaps the vaccine has taken some of the momentum out of them as they were seen to be benefitting from the lock downs etc

Very quiet board unlike recent share action. Can't see any news but it's been zipping way up and yesterday back down. Any insights??

They say that because of the virus they do not answer phones so they are using the virus to get people into stores.

I went in for some floor tiles and when they didn't have them in stock I went across the car park to B&Q. But to be fair my wife had never been in there before and seemed quite interested in all the items they stock and also the quality, although we didn't end up buying anything. Sold my shares just leaving the £500 profit invested so will probably look for any weakness in the autumn months.

Think it is time B@M stopped hiding behind coved and started to answer there phone. People have to visit store daily looking for items that are not in stock making the chance of coming in contact with the virus much more likely.

article in today's times that is somewhat critical of B&M's stores remaining open when only a third of its revenue is from groceries.

It does report a staff member saying that sales are at christmas like numbers. Usually a quiet time of year up to Easter.
