08/5/2007 08:08 | GSands....here is a reply I got from advfn on that very subject..( no "A") "It is a ""UK Regulatory"" news article - the category, UKREG, does not automatically mean that it is an RNS article. RNS is one news source that is part of our UK Regulatory news feed. All RNS articles have an RNS number, if the article doesn''t have an RNS number, it is not an RNS article and therefore will not flag with an "A" | spekky
08/5/2007 08:01 | Thanks Spekky, I missed that news this morning. No 'A' by ADC on my watchlist. | gsands
08/5/2007 07:53 | At last, some light, makes perfect sense to relocate to the heart of the automotive industry. The new CEO has just given ADC a big kick up the pants. This has been drifting for too long in the Canadian backwaters (sorry).Way to go Scott. PS. Can we have a redesigned website Scott, the current one is appalling. | spekky
01/5/2007 13:48 | Its a shame that Canada is so slow to catch on,it could be EV Utopia since most of its electricity is from a sustainable source,ie hydro-electric,they could (in transport terms at least) wear the greenest halo in the world. | spekky
30/4/2007 16:33 | Well its up 7% in Toronto at the moment so its possible the mounties and lumberjacks are just getting onboard the green train (about time). ."..for the first time ever, we will set out enforceable regulatory targets for the short, medium and long term. The era of voluntary compliance is over." By 2010 Canada's emissions would be about 46% above the targets it had agreed to hit by 2012 under the Kyoto Protocol . | spekky
30/4/2007 08:17 | I don't know where GCG gets its info re the drivetrain but I suspect its pure guesswork, BUT , AT LAST (and crucially, since ADC is Canadian) Thats the legislation that could achieve TAN style growth and publicity for ADC. | spekky
27/4/2007 11:52 | Did ADC and LPD actually beat TAN to it? wonder whats happening with it? | spekky
27/4/2007 09:08 | Good article from 2006 (credit to GS for the find) | spekky
26/4/2007 08:36 | Hope so spekky. Not much interest this am | the hog
26/4/2007 07:22 | Be interesting to see if TANs success with TNT will feed down to ADC/ENV. | spekky
25/4/2007 08:47 | Hellisreal No problem, just hope the new CEO is as PR friendly.(the vid was oct 2006) Sheeneqa. welcome back to your thread,I agree with what your saying on commercial trucks etc. From your post I deduce your not UK based. The real driver for this technology (in the UK) is the amount of legislation being introduced across the E.U. member states. Its going to make real sense for companies just to cut through all the standards by going "zero" as soon as possible.(and pick up a lot of "greeny" points with joe public) I'm sure you must be familiar with what TAN is doing in the CV sector and its just starting to bear fruit. Dont really agree with the plateau theory (on cars),many large cities here will introduce congestion charges which EVs will be exempt from, that will soon claw back the additional cost even before you take the fuel savings into account. In Januarys' S.O.T.U. address, Butch(Blair is Sundance) re-emphasised the need to reduce dependancy on oil.Now that could be just greenwashing but I feel its more likely a move towards "secure energy",in other words "giving the finger" to OPEC "cos we're gonna make damn sure you cant hold us to ransom any longer."(reading between the lines) It will take Canada and the U.S. longer to come round, but they will.Companies like ADC/ENV hold the key to future transport solutions,IF,they can survive a few years longer,it wont be easy..... | spekky
25/4/2007 08:04 | spekky thx for link as I'm new here (22 min interview) | hellisreal
25/4/2007 08:03 | By 2011, a little more than 500,000 hybrid vehicle units will be sold. While this is definitely a solid increase from 2006's count of 230,000 hybrid vehicle units sold, it's not going much further. See, in 2011, hybrid vehicle unit sales will hit a plateau. It's obvious why: Hybrid vehicles will still be expensive, at least $4,000 over a regular car's ticket price. Individual consumers who want one will buy one now. In fact, many are waiting for the newest, hottest SUV hybrid vehicle to come out before putting the money down. Just because hybrid vehicle sales are going to plateau doesn't mean that you shouldn't look toward investing in hybrid technology. I just wouldn't suggest car manufacturers at this point. The biggest market for hybrids is in the commercial industry. Trucks, buses, vans, you name it... they drive farther and more often, on average, than regular American citizens zooming about town. ! Companies with the largest fleets of trucks and vans, and companies that rely on transportation for their subsistence, are at a crossroads: they want to jump on the "going green" bandwagon, but they don't want to replace all of their vehicles, which could cost billions of dollars. Taipan news. | sheeneqa
25/4/2007 07:37 | Yes it could do with consolidating above 30p,the next obvious PR opportunity is a couple of weeks away in Mexico city. | spekky |
