23/4/2007 15:59 | Moving along nicely today. | the hog
23/4/2007 15:12 | DYOR but some of those TANVANS are apparently ready for delivery, but,I'm not aware of ENOVA having received enough orders to do that,ADC on the other hand have had orders for 30 drivetrains (up to pres),so can anybody tell me if ENOVA have had that many orders. If not I suggest the TANVAN may be ADC powertrain, hopefully we can pin this issue down soon. | spekky
23/4/2007 14:54 | Seems to be creeping up on the TSX. (Toronto exchange) | spekky
23/4/2007 12:49 | TA You'd have to think that ADC will have something at the C.V. show in one form or another, fingers crossed...... | spekky
23/4/2007 12:12 | Just a couple of links to show the Ford JV (may be hybrid): And from the following link, it states (specifically the Transit): "Completed proof-of-concept hybrid Ford Transit Van in collaboration with Ingimex Ltd. and GKN Plc for testing and market evaluation purposes; the vehicle was displayed at the Commercial Vehicle Show (Birmingham, England) in April 2006;" | the_analyst
23/4/2007 09:38 | Agree spekky. The TAN effect. TAN I think use both ADC and ENV for their drive trains. With their ties with ford I wonder wether they will using only their drive trains for the Edison ( Ford Transit) being launched tomorrow. | the hog
23/4/2007 09:33 | So does ENV,although todays move is largely the TAN effect I think ADC has bags of potential and better newsflow (and less debt)than ENV. It will be interesting to see what the Toronto price does today (5hrs from now) | spekky
23/4/2007 09:26 | Azure already has ties with Ford. | the hog
23/4/2007 09:26 | and checkin the MAC Solastic FIB Elliot Wave theories i can conclude we are going to see a blue day today!! | pomp circumstance

23/4/2007 09:20 | Either way, a nice start to the day as the share price recovery continues. | howdlep
23/4/2007 08:40 | Don't know, but its good news for any powertrain maker cos a market as big as the Transit will take some satisfying. My guess is its Enova, but I'll be watching closely to see who receives the next order from TAN.This wont go unnoticed by Ford.........anythin TAN is getting all the glory at the mo',but when investors start digging into the technology then powertrain producers ( and battery prods.) will become hot property,in the words of the song.........*patien Unfortunately TANs battery supplier is Swiss based and not quoted (last time I looked). | spekky
23/4/2007 08:09 | Spekky, TAN rns re Transit.....they use Azure drive system on those ? | the_analyst
20/4/2007 21:02 | Up 6% today on the Toronto exchange,I wonder if they've got a sniff of something. | spekky
20/4/2007 10:50 | Old news but a few things I did n't know.... Also from Green Car Congress........ "Mayor Ebrard will drive the first converted vehicle to the International Electric Vehicle Forum on 8 May 2007 in Mexico City. " Now thats bound to be on local Mexico city tv news so I'm hoping to get some video to post here.It better not break down....LOL. | spekky
20/4/2007 07:30 | It surely will when others make the connection. You have to be concerned regarding the accumulated debt of ADC,but having looked at Enovas' I am somewhat more comfortable with Azure.I feel both may need to tap the market when demand increases,ADC have done recently so, of the two,I imagine ENV will be next. | spekky
19/4/2007 22:17 | Spekky, I am optimistic that we will hear a lot about vehicles with ADC drive systems at the CV show next week. TAN's share price is already reacting in anticipation, hope ADC follows suit. | the_analyst
19/4/2007 08:22 | Chorister The flagship will be the one that sells in high numbers, that might be the Newton but more likely the new Edison (transit type). Many companies are holding back, waiting to see how things pan out,When they do put a toe in the water it'll be the cheapest variant which sells most (initially). As far as ADC is concerned,TAN is not the only fish in the sea.Regarding your comment about technologies being non interchangeable here is a response from Dan Jenkins at TAN in reply to an e-mail I sent 2 months ago..... "The batteries are indeed the Sodium Nickel Chloride "Zebra" batteries from this supplier. However, we are not tied to one battery supplier the same comment applies as to the drive train. Also, our technical dept assures me that all of our vehicles are future-proofed, so if better technology comes along, it can be easily incorporated with the minimum of fuss. The Newton vehicle can accommodate four or six batteries. The TNT Express UK vehicle has four batteries. The Ceva Logistics (formerly TNT Logistics) vehicle has six." That suggests to me that the drive systems are easily interchangeable. | spekky
18/4/2007 23:52 | Spekky, chorister, Check out this link. Seems the drive systems are for the Faraday. | the_analyst
18/4/2007 20:17 | I think you will find that the Enova drive is in the Newton vehicle (as supplied to M&S) while ADC is used in airport tugs and possibly a vehicle called, I think, Faraday (though it may be Einstein - I can't remember). These technologies are not interchangeable and not necessarily competing with each other. However Tanfield's key strategic relationship seems to be with Enova, and their (Tanfield's) flagship product is the Newton. | chorister
18/4/2007 19:25 | Evening T_A MTG on the TAN thread seems to think its all Enova at the moment,I'm not so sure.As you say ADC have supplied 30 drives up to present so what are they being used for? MTG is going to the CV show and I know he'll ask all the right questions ,so ,I guess we'll have to wait for his feedback. What we as TAN/ADC holders need to know is, which drive is in which vehicle? Obviously TAN will say they have various options ,but, its either ADC OR ENV.Its early days for this technology so theres probably room for both.If TAN make it clear that Enova are the preferred supplier (they wont do that) it would not lead me to sell ADC,its a vast market and no single supplier could cope with the forthcoming demand. Personally,I find it strange that there isn't a solution closer to home, but that in itself tells me that both ADC and ENV have a pretty unique product. | spekky
18/4/2007 18:32 | spekky, As you know I am also in TAN. What do you make of the purchase order for 30 drive systems, presumably Smith (TAN). Are we gonna see something at the NEC show next week ?.. If it is TAN, we know TAN is going places. So, makes sense to stay with ADC during these infancy months/years. Early bird and all that.. ps. thanks for making the effort to email the co. | the_analyst |
