01/7/2014 12:27 | Let's see if you're right. | bones30
01/7/2014 12:26 | It ain't goin to fly | buywell2
01/7/2014 11:38 | Agree Colinvest This is looking more like it. | scottie55
24/6/2014 07:43 | 8.5p trading this morning which is the upper limit of the second 'inside-day'. With the weekly chart now showing a 'buy' signal, the chances are that the upper limit will be taken out! The downtrend started at around 25p last September has been broken, with a 'two-day confirmation' this week. Next line of resistance is around the 10p area, after which this birdie will have clear blue sky to enjoy ..!! | colinvest
24/6/2014 07:33 | The 'inside-day' breakout on the upside was a positive development, and is continuing higher as least line of resistance with 8.5p trading early this morning as a second 'inside-day' breakout is imminent, if 8.5p can be surpassed ..!! | colinvest
23/6/2014 08:20 | Time will tell 'buywell2', but those who bought at 7p bought well ..!! | colinvest
21/6/2014 06:03 | You are flogging a dead bird | buywell2
20/6/2014 21:13 | After three 'inside-day' trading days this week, the higher breakout today through 7.8p on good volume of nearly 1-million shares, indicates further upside next week. Indeed, it looks ominously like the breakout last February, after which the shares put on a quick 50%. No reason why it can't happen again ..! | colinvest
19/6/2014 21:30 | Gold surged $50 today, as the situation in Iraq worsened, and junior gold miners staged lift-off on Wall Street, reflected by the Junior Gold Miners ETF GDXJ which rose 7% to $43. Sentiment should spill over into London juniors tomorrow, and Avocet should also benefit. After three 'inside-days' trading a chart breakout could be quite dramatic, especially as MM's have been lining their books with a large bull position after soaking up several days of nearly 100% sellers, A healthy mark-up would be a natural reflection of the higher gold prices which immediately improve the company's financial position, as well as the market-maker's shrewd book ..! | colinvest
18/6/2014 12:34 | Gold prices will be 400% higher at $5,000 in 2 years from now, which will allow this little birdy to fly high with no debt burdens to hold it back. Some people can't see the nuggets for the mountains! This morning's very defensive quote 7p - 8p after yesterday's significant 'inside-day' action ..! Interesting ..! | colinvest
17/6/2014 16:02 | Given a gold price rising to $5,000 by late next year, AVM will pay off its loans sooner than later. It's just that people are blinkered by the company's current financial position at barely break-even with gold around $1,260, and can't see the nuggets in the mountain. There is also some interesting activity in TrueGold with some steady volumes being traded after their encouraging values were announced a couple of weeks ago, and today's volume was better at 1.7-million shares, closing at 45cents(+2). Back to AVM where the chart finished with an 'inside-day' with trading parameters of 7.0-7.8 - interesting ..! | colinvest
13/6/2014 13:53 | This little birdy needs putting out of its misery Past its sell by date and production costs crippling it V a lower GOLD price and riddled with debts | buywell2
12/6/2014 17:40 | Good luck with that - the announcement today says nothing about how the Elliott debt will actually be repaid and if it is likely to involve the sale of the Guinea assets then AVM are worthless as there is still the Ecobank loan to repay from any Inata cashflows over the next 5 years. | polaris
12/6/2014 07:17 | This morning's company financial update lifts any doubts that might have been circulating the media, and points to a substantial re-rating of the shares. Short-covering would speed up the process, - as daily, weekly, and monthly charts endorse buy-signals ..!! | colinvest
10/6/2014 07:07 | Avocet should gain encouragement from the Burkina Fasso gold-find by TrueGold Mining (CVE:TGM), lifting the company's prospects with encouraging 29.5% gold values over 6 metres, and not too far from Avocet's Inata mine. TrueGold, mkt.cap $163m, has had an increasing turnover in shares in the past month in Vancouver, indicating 'active interest'. Perhaps some of the Canadian enthusiasm might turn to TrueGold's neighbours, and if Canadian interest can be seen in Avocet, then the bush-telegraph is alive and well in Africa! Just wondering if Burkina Fasso might be the next 'Transvaal' region for mining gold? In which case there could be fortunes to be made by investing in this region with a new African Gold Rush! (AVM shares up 4% this morning, to 7.7p) | colinvest
09/6/2014 19:47 | Yes, but what about those Elliot people? Won't they want zillions of shares issued to themselves in respect of the overdue debt? The funding gap is a worry too. The only thing that can rescue this company is a rising gold price surely? I read somewhere that as China rebalances its economy from growing the fixed capital part of it to growing consumer demand that oil and gold prices should benefit while stuff I am in (iron ore) will fall (leaving aside the future iron ore oversupply problem). Also what about the management here: the Board has a terrible record of making minor profits and then blowing years' worth of profit in one fell swoop on calling the gold price wrong (all those hedging screw-ups). | nobull
09/6/2014 11:30 | Time to follow the Rothschild philosophy "Buy when there's blood in the streets", and with the AVM price haemorrhaging daily, now 7.5p, it might be a good time to follow Rothschild ...!! Big percentage rises ahead as mining shares reverse the downtrend! | colinvest
05/6/2014 10:07 | The gradual erosion on price, now 7.8p, is frustrating; and it is now back to the lows of Jan/Feb, from where it staged a 66% rally up to 14p. The price-action is typical of lack of interest and incentive to buy while the gold price languishes around the $1,240-level. There may be a further $50 downside in gold which will not help the price of junior-miners, but when the turnaround happens these small daily minuses in the share price will be forgotten by this time next year, when the share price will be rising by 7.8p per day, - and then some, with the gold price rocketing skywards. NOW is a great time to accumulate stock at these levels, ahead of multi-baggers in the future ..!! | colinvest
26/5/2014 23:53 | I think it may have been a typo and that they meant to "reiterate their target of 8p" | technofiend
26/5/2014 22:58 | They needed to Palm off stock to Pi'S?? | a.fewbob
26/5/2014 21:33 | Did Canaccord Genuity give a buy with a price target of 80p? If so what was their rationale? | technofiend
20/5/2014 07:27 | 200,000 sale early this morning, - just what the market-makers need for their books after a series of days when purchases outnumbered sales. Another thing that interests me is the DOW:GOLD RATIO sitting at around 14:1 at the moment, when it should be half that figure. That puts gold on at least $2,000, and probably much more, - time will tell, but that puts a shiny future on the likes of AVM ..!! | colinvest
16/5/2014 18:45 | Price monitoring extension on today's closing auction for an extra 5 minutes, and the resulting 'enveloping' and positive candlestick on higher volume indicates something interesting happening with the company. Could be an interested party building a big stake, or maybe an announcement of higher and extended gold values on its property; - maybe one activity compliments the other ...! There was also a buy-signal on the weekly chart after this evening's close around the 9p level. Exciting times ahead for AVM ..! Have a nice sunny weekend ...! | colinvest
14/5/2014 16:28 | No follow-through after a 100,000 sell order went through late in the day; defensive mark-down by 1/2p but recovered some poise at the close. | colinvest
14/5/2014 04:53 | Chart reversal yesterday ..! Opened lower, then closed higher in a bullish engulfing candle! - and a follow-through would be more than interesting ..! | colinvest |
