AT LAST, found the Worked Example for apportioning acquisition cost between new ordinary shares and B shares for CGT purposes.

It's under FAQs on their investor website

Then scroll down to:
I am an individual and resident in UK. Can you tell me any more about my tax position?

In that section there is a link to:
An illustrative worked example is available here

Una, hardly a fall, unless you expect a continuous rise to infinity and beyond.May be worth you investing some time into how the market works?

igoe104, I don't either but unfortunately the market does more often than not.
Buy the dips and hold for the long term is the safest way to play this game imo.

No it's my fault as I decided to top up at 437 😂
I think we are right to expect a dip in this short week especially with no US market today too. We like to follow their lead in the PM so without one today I think some may take their money off the table ahead of the long weekend.

Also many away at the moment too so it's far from normal times.

Weekend FT "Lunch with Amanda Blanc" - Knowing that one of her bugbears is the extent to which the promised relaxation of restrictive European insurance regulation — so-called Solvency II rules — has yet to materialise, I ask why she cares so much. The mixed messages from government and regulators mean that a key policy priority — investing in UK infrastructure — remains hamstrung, she says, despite being a core part of the plan to “level up” the country. (“Wouldn’;t it be ironic,” she says, “if post-Brexit we actually were in a worse situation than Europe?”)

A quite positive article in this Weekend FT "Lunch with Amanda Blanc"...in fact very positive and I am personally pleased that she is our CEO. Should leave any doubters looking for any issues with other companies in the FTSE....hope she stays at least another 5 years, and rewarded accordingly.

Do I sense a tongue in cheek comment, rob?

After all it's a simple "on the relevant day valuation" and a "computation of the effect of the share consolidation vis-a-vis the B shares/reduction in ongoing capital".

Well done rob. But how complicated can it be? Most companies that carry out such a share consolidation/capital return provide the information within a day or two.

Not very good, I agree, so earlier today I emailed the Registrars (Computershare) with the same query to see if that has some effect.

Lunch with FT ‘Aviva’s Amanda Blanc

Refers to her performance and that share price has gone up 60% under her stewardship

Quite a long article
